Hey all,
It's taking a little time, but I'm finally catching on and getting used to Hive. I'm using Peakd for the first time also, and getting used to the features. I feel like a dinosaur, or more like a granny trying to use a smart phone for the first time LOL.
I'm also rediscovering the joys of writing! I hadn't done this in so long due to lack of time, but every time my little monster takes a nap, I try to sneak in a few paragraphs.
So anyhow, as you may (or may not) have read in my lat post, things are looking quite gloomy financially speaking. The quarantine in Panama is supposed to last until the end of May, but they could prolong it if necessary. At this point we are extremely close to bankruptcy, as our business is 100% dependent on tourism. So it's fair to say that life sucks right now, and it's very scary not to know what tomorrow will be made of.
We're due to move into a smaller house to pay less rent next month, and I'm in the process of cleaning out all my shit. I have a TON of shit to give away or toss, it's crazy how much a human being can accumulate over the years. But it's a good exercise to try and get by with as little material things as possible.
And here I thought I didn't have a lot of clothes...
It's funny, I had never thought I would go through something like this. A recession, yes, but a pandemic that would completely freeze our economy and kill our business in no time?
Hell no!
Not in a million years. And you don't even know the worst part of it all!
Can you believe the Panamanian government has made the sale of alcohol illegal during quarantine? I mean seriously? Not that I can't get my hands on some "black market" bottles of wine, but please give me a break!
Joke aside, now I realize even more how important it is to unplug from the system. We need to grow our own food. We need ways to survive beyond the regular rat race and fiat money. Right now, the thought of having some crypto allows me to sleep at night, but I'm still shitting my pants a little...excuse my French.
Anyways, we're still healthy and have a roof over our heads, so I shouldn't complain =). Here's a pic of my little man and myself, on our daily quarantine walk. I blurred him on purpose, because he's too little to consent to having his picture published on social media.
I hope you're all safe out there and would love to hear some of your quarantine stories!
Cheers,
Eve
