It's been a few days, hello fellow hoomans. Here is another portrait from me.
This was a tough one, I started this late last year, couldn't finish it then cos I had some commissions to get to. It was my first portrait of 2020. I procrastinated quite a bit on it (my life would be much easier if I wasn't so lazy.)
The focal point of this portrait was supposed to be the hair, I've been trying to improve my hair drawing techniques. Sometimes, I feel like I've improved, but then I double check and start second guessing myself.
I realised recently that I focus too much on the details, especially when I'm drawing skin, which eats up my time and at the end, the drawing comes out looking unnatural. I'm hoping to fix that habit.
I used Charcoal and graphite on Starthmore 300 paper. For highlights, a TomBow Mono Zero Eraser and a soft brush & cotton bud for blending.
