It was my dream to travel faster than 200 kmph in a train when I was a kid. Eventually I've done those speeds on different high-capacity motorcycles/cars in the past. I enjoy train journeys even as I don't travel much by them anymore.
Europe is perfect for this and I was able to experience it there. However, there's not a lot to experience as the acceleration and deceleration is quite smooth and you don't feel it as you would in a motorcycle or car or even a plane for that matter.
This screenshot was taken on my journey between Florence and Rome which I remember correctly but the next one is older and I can't recall where this was taken. But i've traveled more than a dozen countries in Europe via different modes of transport so it could be anywhere.
I have a few things in my wishlist: I want to experience the Japanese Shinkansen or the bullet train. It has been a dream for as long as I've known about the existence of this train. The French TGV and also a Maglev train in China would be epic too as they have some high speed trains there as well.
NTV (Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori) trains in Italy can do 300 kmph apparently but when I traveled I could only experience 250 kmph to the dot. I cannot recall if I have another screenshot at a greater speed but I was able to find this picture on my social media for now.
If possible someday I would like to experience the Trans-Siberian Railway Network as well. I think it has all the feels of a good adventure over multiple days. What do you think?
If you have traveled in high speed trains please post your pictures and/or experiences below. Recommendations on a future journey, especially in EU or countries with high-speed rail options is welcome. :)
