New year's resolutions never work for me, so each year, I take the first few days of the year to think about one thing that I want to change about myself. I believe that change is good, and before you can change the world, you have to look at yourself first.
I have long since made peace with the fact that I will never be a slim model, but I can start eating healthier and change my mindset about the whole weight thing.
This is however not my main focus this year, although I am really going to try and focus a little more on healthier eating, with getting a little older and all. My main focus this year will be to enjoy life more. The past two years taught me a lot about myself. I lost my dad just before Covid hit, and there has been a lot of ups and downs during the last two years.
Life is full of surprises and we have to make the best with what we get. I have always believed that we are in charge of our own destiny and we need to have positivity around us so we can attract more positivity. So this year I am going to focus on positivity and to stop worrying about the nitty gritty things in life. Life is short, and we don't know what waits for us around the corner but if we have a positive outlook on life then we can overcome anything.
Life is not waiting for anyone. Stop living in the past, stop thinking about all the bad things that happened to you in your life. Leave the past in the past because that is exactly where it belongs.
Living your life doesn't mean just to work and survive. Being a couch potato is also not going to do it for you. Lift your butt off that couch, and start to do little things that you do not usually do. Change doesn't have to happen all in one day. A baby needs to crawl before he/she starts walking. If you do a little bit more each day, imagine how much you will be able to do in 2022!
May you be blessed!
