Antes de comenzar con este artículo, quiero que se tomen un momento para leer la frase que más resalta en la portada de este post: «Our Time Has Value» (Nuestro Tiempo Tiene Valor), porque será el punto más importante que voy a describir sobre esta plataforma.
Un agradecimiento especial a @theycallmedan por la iniciativa, la cual pueden leer al hacer click acá, se trata de responder unas preguntas que le facilitarán la vida a las personas que aún no se hayan unido a la Revolución de Hive, vamos a explicar un poco de qué va todo esto.
¿Qué es Hive | Cómo funciona?
Pensemos en el BTC (Bitcoin) por un momento; todos saben qué es, pero muy pocos saben utilizarlo y/u obtenerlo a pesar de que hay muchísimos testimonios, sin embargo, para poder hacer Stake (cosa que explicaremos más adelante) necesitas de maquinaria especializada (que realmente puede resultar bastante costosa) y te genera una pequeña porción de ganancia comparado a lo que pueden hacer otras personas que posean mejores maquinarias que tú.
Intentaré explicar de manera superficial cómo funciona el HIVE, sin caer en mucho tecnicismo, únicamente mostrando los conceptos que necesitan conocer para ello.
La moneda HIVE parte de un principio parecido; debes hacer Stake (ahorrar la mayor cantidad que puedas de la moneda) para que tengas cierto nivel de «influencia» y «poder» dentro de la «cadena de bloques» en donde operas para obtener la moneda, todo basado en un algoritmo y un esquema. Dicho esquema se conoce como «Proof Of Brain» (Prueba de Cerebro) en el que, las personas le otorgan valor a la moneda utilizándola para recompensar contenido que sea considerado contenido de valor, sin importar el tipo de contenido.
Hive es una criptomoneda que trabaja sobre una «Blockchain» (Cadena de Bloques), esto simplemente es un paradigma de transmisión de información donde los buses de datos de las computadoras ya no mueven paquetes de datos, sino matrices donde hay muchos paquetes aglomerados en bloques, que además, trabajan de forma encriptada, por lo que no es de fácil acceso para terceros.
¿Qué quiere decir esto?
Simplemente es una criptomoneda que trabaja en una blockchain, donde serás recompensado por crear contenido de valor de cualquier índole, pero este tipo de recompensa tiene un procedimiento realizado por un algoritmo que mantendrá el equilibrio entre la recompensa que recibes como creador, la recompensa que reciben tus curadores (porque son los que valoran tu contenido e invierten su poder, tiempo y demás en hacerlo), el cual es el siguiente:
- Período de «Pending Payout» (Pago Pendiente): Durante este período (7 días desde el momento en que tu publicación se guarda en la Blockchain), tu publicación estará recaudando ganancias obtenidas gracias a la curación de contenido de cualquier persona que considere que le otorgas valor a la plataforma de cualquier manera, es decir, por 7 días estarás apto para recibir recompensas, que se irán acumulando hasta el día en que cobrarás tu post (pasados los 7 días).
- Período de «Payment» (Pago | Cobranza): Luego de los 7 días de recolección de recompensas, tu publicación liberará las recompensas, repartiendo en una proporción 50-50 tus recompensas con tus curadores, y a su vez, esa recompensa que obtienes, volverá a repartirse en una proporción 50-50 entre tu «recompensa líquida», la cual es tu recompensa tangible (en HBD), que podrás cambiar por bienes, servicios o fiat (dinero) y tu «Poder de HIVE» (HP) que servirá para medir tu nivel de «influencia» y «poder» en la plataforma, porque irá midiendo tu nivel de «Stake».
- Recompensas de Curación: Además de las recompensas por crear contenido, tú también puedes ser curador, porque a medida que aumenta tu Poder de Hive (HP), tu voto (herramienta para otorgar valor a otras personas) comienza a tener peso para recompensar publicaciones y así puedes recibir —luego de los 7 días de período «Pending Payout»— dichas recompensas de curación en tu Wallet, por ejemplo:
Yo decido votar esta publicación al 100% de mi Poder de Hive, como pueden ver en la flecha que está a la derecha, le voy a otorgar una recompensa de 0.017$ porque en este momento yo poseo 1.135,784 de Poder de Hive (HP).

Conceptos Importantes
Ya conocimos —de forma superficial— el funcionamiento de la plataforma, ahora vamos a conocer algunos conceptos importantes que les servirán en su travesía dentro de la Blockchain, estos son:
- Wallet (Billetera): Con la misma lógica de una billetera común y corriente, tu Wallet es el lugar donde estarás guardando todas tus ganancias líquidas, tu Poder de Hive y transferir criptomonedas a otra cuenta.
- Keys (Llaves): Estas son contraseñas que utilizarás para entrar en tu cuenta dependiendo del tipo de operación que quieras realizar, se dividen en: Posting (Posteo), Active (Activa, para realizar transferencias), Memo (Para crear Memos (notas en las transferencias) de forma encriptada) y la Owner (Servirá para cambiar las otras contraseñas, HAY QUE GUARDARLA EN UN SITIO SEGURO PORQUE NO SE RECUPERA).
- Witness: En esta «Blockchain» (Cadena de Bloques), existen algunos mineros (al igual que el BTC) que obtienen de forma diaria una porción de la cantidad total de HIVE que hay en existencia, estos son conocidos como Witness (Testigos). Ellos utilizan maquinaria especializada también para correr lo que se conoce como un Nodo, el cual sirve para mantener el código interno de la blockchain en funcionamiento, pero, a diferencia de los mineros de BTC, ellos reciben más o menos HIVE dependiendo de cuántas personas confíen —y voten— por ellos, esto los coloca en un top 30, donde los primeros 20 de la lista son los que se encargan de dicho mantenimiento de forma directa, mientras que los otros 10 restantes se encargan de realizar el «Backup» (Respaldo) y/o Reemplazo del código en caso de que alguno de los 20 nodos principales quede inoperativo.
Ahora, ¿cuánto vale tu tiempo?
Como mencioné al principio de este post, hagamos énfasis en la frase «Our Time Has Value» (Nuestro Tiempo Tiene Valor), porque hoy en día, tenemos acceso a tanta tecnología e información, que nos volvemos más hábiles en cualquier ámbito, tanto que hay muchos trabajadores «freelancer» (semi-contratados) que trabajan por comisiones o pagos por horas de trabajo en lugar de un sueldo establecido a un trabajo quincenal o mensual.
Pero ¿por qué está pasando esto? Simple, porque el tiempo es oro, mientras más productivos podamos ser en menor cantidad de tiempo, podremos obtener grandes ganancias de nuestros talentos y habilidades.
HIVE nos permite crecer y obtener ganancias por trabajar en nuestra pasión, podemos monetizar cualquier tipo de contenido, mientras se tenga una buena estrategia de mercadeo (puedes ir aprendiendo sobre la marcha, yo tardé casi un año) que solo se base en: buscar un nicho (público a donde vas a dirigir tu contenido) e interactuar con otros creadores y curadores para obtener reconocimiento, ya que, después de todo, esta plataforma es una Red Social.

Before starting with this post, I want you to take a moment to read the phrase that we can see larger than the others on the cover of this post: "Our Time Has Value", because it will be the most important point I'll describe about this platform.
A special thanks to @theycallmedan for the initiative, which you can read by clicking here, it is about answering some questions that will make life easier for people who haven't yet joined the Hive Revolution, I'm going to explain a little bit about what this is all about.
What is Hive? | How does it work?
Let's think about BTC (Bitcoin) for a moment; everybody knows what it is, but very few know how to use it and/or get it even though there are many testimonials about it. However, in order to do Stake (which I'll explain later) you need specialized machinery (which can be really expensive) and it generates a small portion of profit compared to what other people gets with better machinery.
I'll try to explain in a superficial way how HIVE works, without falling into much technicality, only showing the concepts that you need to know.
The HIVE crypto starts from a similar principle; you must Stake (save as much of the crypto as you can) so that you have some level of "influence" and "power" within the "blockchain" where you operate to get it, all based on an algorithm and a scheme. This scheme is known as a "Proof Of Brain" in which people give value to the coin by using it to reward content that is considered valuable content, regardless of its type.
Hive is a crypto-currency that works on a "Blockchain", this is no more that a paradigm of information transmission where the data buses whitin the computers no longer move data packages, but arrays where there are many packages grouped in blocks, in addition, work in an encrypted form, so it's not easily accessible for third parties.
What does this mean?
It is simply a crypto-currency that works in a blockchain, where you will be rewarded for creating valuable content of any kind, but this type of reward has a procedure performed by an algorithm that will maintain the balance between the reward you receive as a creator, the reward your curators receive (because they're the ones who value your content and invest their power, time and so on in doing so), which is the following:
- Pending Payout Period: During this period (7 days from the time your post is saved in the Blockchain), your post will be collecting earnings from the content curation from anyone who believes you value the platform in any way, ie for 7 days you will be eligible for rewards, which will accumulate until the day you collect your post (after 7 days).
- "Payment" period: After the 7-day bounty collection period, your publication will release the earnings, splitting it with your content curators in a 50-50 ratio, and in turn, that split earning you get will be split again in a 50-50 ratio between your first earnings (savings) and your liquids earnings, which is your material reward (in HBD), which you can exchange for goods, services or fiat (money) and your "HIVE Power" (HP) which will serve to measure your level of "influence" and "power" within the platform, because it will measure your level of "Stake".
- Content Curation Rewards: In addition to the rewards you receive for creating content, you can also be a content curator, because as your Hive Power (HP) increases, your vote begins to carry weight in rewarding posts, so you can receive after the 7-day Pending Payout period, those content curation rewards in your Wallet, for example:
I decide to vote for this post using a 100% vote with my Hive Power, as you can see in the arrow on the right, I'll give a reward that worth 0.017$ because at this moment I have 1,135.784 Hive Power (HP).

Important Concepts
We already knew —superficially— how the platform works, now we're going to know some important concepts that will serve you in your journey within the Blockchain, these are:
- Wallet: With the same logic of an ordinary wallet, your Wallet is the place where you'll be keeping all your liquid earnings, your Hive Power and transferring crypto-currencies to another account.
- Keys: These are passwords that you will use to login to your account depending on the type of operation you want to perform, divided into Posting Key (to make comments or posts), Active Key (to make transfers), Memo Key (To create encrypted Memos (notes in transfers)) and the Owner Key (It will serve to change the other passwords, YOU MUST KEEP IT IN A SECURE SITE BECAUSE IT CAN'T BE RECOVERED IF YOU LOSE IT).
- Witness: In this "Blockchain", there are some miners (like the BTC) that obtain a portion of the total amount of HIVE that is in existence on a daily basis, these are known as Witnesses. They also use specialized machinery to run what is known as a Node, which serves to keep the internal code of the blockchain running, but, unlike the BTC miners, they receive more or less HIVE depending on how many people trust —and vote— for them, this places them in a top 30, where the first 20 on the list are those that take care of maintenance directly, while the other 10 remaining ones are in charge of performing the Backup and/or Replacement of the code in case any of the 20 main nodes becomes inoperative.
Now, how much is your time worth?
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, let's emphasize the phrase "Our Time Has Value", because nowadays, we have access to a lot of technology and information, and that makes that we can become more skilled in any field, that's the reason why we can see many "freelancer" (semi-contracted) workers who work for commissions or payments for working hours instead of a set salary to a half-month or monthly job.
But why is this happening? Simple, because time is money, the more productive we can be in a shorter amount of time, the more we can earn from our talents and skills.
HIVE allows us to grow and profit by working on our passion, we can monetize any kind of content, as long as you have a good marketing strategy (you can learn as you go, it took me almost a year) that is based on finding a niche (audience you're going to target) and interacting with other creators and curators to get recognition, because after all, this platform is a Social Media Platform.
