Hi all,
As many of you know, a lot of people on Hive have been working really hard to get Hive noticed on Twitter. As Twitter has become a pretty popular Social Media platform where the Hive Community is being promoted, it felt right to start a TweetChat on Twitter for the Hive community, but also for everyone else who is interested in learning about the Hive ecosystem. And yes, if we do it right, we might get Hive Trending on Twitter.
What is a TweetChat?
Basically a TweetChat is a chat among a group of people on Twitter. However, this 'gathering' is often being held on a weekly basis and built around one single topic (in this case, Hive of course). Usually, a TweetChat takes about an hour, has one or multiple hosts who ask different questions and people joining in on the conversation by simply answering the questions and including the # (hashtag) in their tweets, but also interacting with one another.
What is #HiveChat?
#HiveChat is the name of the weekly TweetChat that will be held about Hive. Just to get a general feel of how people would respond to the name, we did a little poll on DPoll and the majority of the voters agreed on #HiveChat being the official hashtag for this TweetChat. While there are several apps that have a similar name, the hashtag has only been used once on Twitter this year, so it is fully available to start a TweetChat with.
When will the HiveChat be held?
Just like with the name, a poll on Dpoll was held to get a bit of a feeling on what day of the week would be the most suitable... and Tuesday came on top.
Now here's come the really difficult part.
At what time will the HiveChat be taking place?
To give everyone an opportunity to join in, the following time has been proposed.
Tuesday’s 12:00 PM (GMT)
08:00 - EST
09:00 - Brazil / Argentina
13:00 - UK
14:00 - Central European Time
17:00 - Pakistan / India
19:00 - Indonesia / Thailand
20:00 - Philippines
22:00 - Australia
This gives everyone around the globe the possibility to join in (yes, it might be a little early or little bit late, but giving everyone an opportunity to join is the most important thing right now).
It also means that the first #HiveChat will take place on Tuesday July 21st at 12:00 PM (GMT). Please feel free to check what time it will be at your location.
So, again how does it work?
From 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM (GMT), the hosts of the HiveChat will ask several questions and everyone will be able to answer those questions. The question will be format with a Q1, Q2, Q3 etc. in front and will be questions towards participant who can answer or share their experience about the topic. Anybody using the hashtag #HiveChat will be taking part in the conversation.
This weekend I'll provide a more detailed guide on what the #HiveChat will look like.
Who are the Hosts?
I am proud to announce I will be co-hosting the #HiveChat with @hivepeople. We are both really looking forward to have you all join in 🙂.
Is there anything else I need to know?
As mentioned, I'll be providing a #HiveChat guide in the weekend. It is always good to do a little research yourself and maybe also check out different TweetChat apps or websites that are frequently used like http://www.tchat.io/ to have a better overview what is happening.
Awesome, where do I sign up?
Well, there is no need to sign up, just show up on Twitter on Tuesday July 21st at 12:00 PM (GMT, please check your timezone) and join in on the conversation through the hashtag.
I you want, you can show your support by tweeting out this post, by clicking this Twitter share button:
