Hello, Hivers!
My name is Keiser Dumas a.k.a. @keiz. I was born in Leyte, my kindred are from Biliran and Zamboanga, got my degree in Bulacan, and currently residing here in Cebu. I think from that, you already have an idea that I like to wander around.

Let me take you on a short trip to my life.
As they say, life is like a game. My childhood was filled with fun and crazy memories. I started having an interest in games when I was still in grade school. It started with teks, pogs, jolens, and dampa (game of rubber bands). Then I still remember when my best friend had his family computer, every day I will go to their house to play. I was envious of him at that time, but he was generous that he let me play with him. When my parents decided to buy me one, it was my time to be generous also to my classmates. The one they bought me was a Konami.
The games I used to play were Super Mario, Contra, Adventure Island, Gradius, and many more! The iconic cheat code you can use when you are faced with a life-and-death situation: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start. And when the ‘bala’ or game won’t work, you just need to blow it until it works. Hahaha! I miss those days (I'll share more about this on my future blogs).

I think the reason why I took up a BS in Information Technology was because of the influence of my exposure to computer games. Programming and hardware subjects were okay but what got my attention was multimedia. I got interested in graphic design and video editing. My skill in that area was developed when I started volunteering in the church service and campus conferences. I also had side projects when I was still studying which gave me opportunities to learn.

Fast forward into the pandemic, I started this project called Common Grounds. I was prompted to start a project to post a design to encourage people surrounding me. It was me trying to get back into action after a long hiatus from doing design. I get inspiration from my daily devotions and share it through art to inspire people and my way to let them know that there is still hope and a future. We might not know what will happen tomorrow but we know who holds it.
So, three months after the first lockdown, Panimpalad Studio arose. It was June 6, 2020, with the help of my 5 friends who are also my colleague. We are a group of millennials who have three things in common. We believe in the next generation and want to empower them; we love to explore; and finally, we take risks.
The idea was to serve our community with our skills and spread good vibes to everyone. This is the reason why "Panimpalad Studio" came to life. The word "panimpalad" is a Bisaya term that means "adventure; take the risk; getting out of your comfort zone".
We collaborate with young artists, most of them are still students because I have this innate ability to see the strengths of people and want to push them further and build their confidence. I wanted to create an avenue where people thrive.
Aside from doing those projects, I make it a habit to read books every day. Just a short background, as a gamer, reading books was boring and a waste of time, until one day I got curious and read a book by Bob Ong, Alamat ng Gubat. It was humorous and full of wisdom. My Ate had a collection of her books, so guess what -- I read them all! My love for books went crazy, I started borrowing and buying books on leadership, finance, autobiography, fiction, and business. As of this writing, I’m currently reading Francis Kong’s Only The Real Matter and The Dalai Lama’s Little Book of Wisdom. So, who among you here likes reading books?
When it comes to sports, I’m into biking. I already conquered Lake Bensis in Toledo, Mantalongon in Dalaguete (180.4km), and Borbon (168.6km). So far, the longest ride I've ever done was in Dalaguete.
I’m also interested in anything Japanese - calligraphy, anime, movies, fashion, nature, and culture. I like how intentional they are in life. I got inspired and decided to be intentional that I will only put my money on things that give value to my life. What you value, appreciates and what appreciates has value. I want to buy experiences. I only own things that give value to my life, else I'll sell, donate, or throw them away.

This is one of my anime inspired drawings. Kurama!
I’m excited because of the onboarding webinar by @ocd team last Saturday, November 20, 2021. Special shoutout to my girlfriend @arkicarls for inviting me and encouraging me to share my story, be part of this community, and start blogging!
As I’m trying to figure out life, I'm here to share stories, travels, bike rides, and my experiences. That's the reason why I want to join the hive community. To meet new people from different walks of life and share stories with one another.
With that out of the way, let's get back to work.
See you on my next blog Hivers!
Ciao!
