Dear Hive,
I hereby write to inform you I am new here and there is need to introduce myself so as not to continue to be a stranger on your platform but before the introduction, let me tell you a story.
28years ago a male child was given birth to by a woman. The baby, mother and father moved into a new house and lived there for almost 20years of the child’s life but while the child grew, the father died and the saddest part was that the death came when things was about to turn for good.
So, things went really bad, the child almost dropped out of primary education which affected his mind (fear, low self-esteem, lack of exposure, etc), his mother did odd jobs to keep the child in school and taught the boy not to steal no matter what because it is hard work that pays. He was exposed to a society he does not have control over; a society where you cannot tell what is right or wrong but learnt the lessons in hard ways, a society where the man with weapon is the strongest and no one to call unto to save, a society where corruption prevails and only the rich become richer and only helps the poor when there is something to gain in return.
The growing child had no mentor to look up to, the father that should have helped is dead, the mother that should have filled the vacuum is weak through poverty and the society that should have been the last hope which is an agent of socialization is unsafe because it is filled vices that are injurious to the mind if not guarded. This growing child is just a sojourner on the planet earth who does not know where his going but heading to an unknown destination.
But, at 21years of age an opportunity came to further education in higher institution of learning in his native country and with the help of some family members till date, this young child has grown to be a fully-grown man and his about to finish his tertiary education in the year 2022.
Thus, the grown-up child is the writer of this letter whose name is Adeniran Oshin Boluwatife, a Mass Communication student at Moshood Abiola Polytechic and I hail from Ogun State, Nigeria.
Furthermore, I was introduced to Hive Community by @emrysjobber.
I am a Scribe and, in our dynasty, we are endowed with writing, reading and speaking abilities and Hive Community is one of the few places to grow so as to come into full potential of these abilities amidst the scribes all around the world.
In conclusion, it is a pleasure being here, thanks to Hive Community for a job well-done so far and creating a safe haven through technology.
