"I have read many books but I have forgotten many. What is the purpose of reading?"
The teacher did not give him an answer at that time. After a few days passed the teacher gave the student a filter which was very dirty and in very bad condition as shown below.

The teacher asked the student to bring water in a nearby river using this filter. The student didn't like the idea but he couldn't refuse his teacher. He then went to the river, filled the filter in the river and started his journey again.
As he walked a few steps, all the water in the filter drained through the hole. Then he returned to the river and refilled the filter. He did that all day but could not complete the task his teacher had given him. He returned to his teacher with a sad face and said,
"I can't carry water using this filter. I have failed".
The teacher smiled at him.
"No! you didn't fail"
Look at that filter. The filter was changed to like new. be clean when you try to carry water. The teacher explained what the real purpose of the assignment was. He said
"A few days ago you asked what is the purpose of reading if you can't remember what you've read. Now take a lesson from this sieve.
Sieve = Mind, Water = Knowledge, River = Book
Even though you can't remember it's okay. But reading will definitely make our minds sharp. "
Reading has a deep impact on our minds and brains. It helps to be the best version of ourselves. This is a subconscious process. The story end here
I have read hundreds of books till now. I don't remember everything in the book. But I certainly know that I am smarter than ever and because of that I will keep reading.
