Dear Hivers,
What is life without a good challenge?
In fact, as @anomadsoul announced a challenge to do something this quarantine, I took a step back and asked myself: what’s the biggest claim I can make?
Reorganizing my desktop — cleaning my room — learning to paint — are not big claims. If anything, these are trendy goals.
Trendy goals are great. I love them. However, I wanted to push the envelope a little further because:
“Don't set goals because it is trendy. Set goals for what you truly want."
This is what my coaching friend once told me. And it is so true, isn't it?
The focus is: What you truly want.
Not on trendy.
And I feel that is incredibly important.
Keeping this in mind, with the current lockdown situation, I am aiming my personal goals in this direction:
Not just one article a day.
Perhaps even two!
Possible? YES.
If I can produce valuable articles and contribute to the community in a meaningful way? I also feel incredibly satisfied. (This relates to what I truly want — satisfaction).
The question is: Why pick this over everything else?
Couple of reasons:
First, by publishing content every day, I get to push my boundaries. You see, even though I have been a blogger, writing on Hive is a different experience. As an author on Hive, we don’t focus on traffic, SEO, or content marketing.
We simply write. And that is something I truly love.
Second reason: the rewards. I would like to test and experiment with the rewards — and see what works and what doesn’t.
Apart from writing, I also love reading.
So considering everything:
- To write - 5 hours a day
- To engage - 1 hour a day
- To read - 2 hour a day
I will be spending 6-9 hours a day on Hive. Perhaps even more as I love hanging out on Discord channels.
Deadline: 6th May, 2020
Any goal is measured with numbers.
In this case, as the goal is to write everyday – I will be publishing 60 articles before the deadline.
To also fasten the process, I have come up with a content strategy. Basically, the idea is to have variety of topics as you can see below:
For now, it is just a skeleton – and I need to fill it up with ideas. With daily reading, I will be coming up with new ideas that goes into the list.
I will also be coming up with series to get tips and advice from some of the members here.
All in all, I would like to contribute and grow in the next 30 days.
