I thought I had better write something other than Urban Exploration content, lest you think I now have a one-track mind.
Is HIVE a toxic environment? It can be if you are perceived to do the wrong things. Who makes the rules, who is to say what is right and what is wrong?
For the most part, behaviour is dictated by the larger stakeholders, and I'm not one of those even though you may think so.
The large stakeholders want to sway behaviour; they hold the power and many of them have paid for that power. Is that a bad thing? ALL of them want HIVE to be a success and not everyone is in agreement with what is acceptable.
As a small stakeholder, you may complain that your content is flagged (down-voted), but there is generally a good reason for it.
Over the last few days I have been hassling someone to change their ways, and it seems the penny has dropped.
There have been no flags, but she is acting the drama queen now. I will leave her alone, the job is done for me.
It does get you down, you feel like the villain and sometimes I feel like just selling up and leaving, such is the contempt I get from certain other HIVE people who vote with their cocks instead of the heads, thinking I am bullying.
Last night a four-person farm was exposed, using plagiarised Indonesian stories, and getting regular @curie votes.
The rewards were being systematically cumulated to a single account and shipped out to an exchange. Someone has to do the dirty work otherwise HIVE will turn into STEEM.
Thanks, @nikv for the tipoff, we are grateful for your detective work. All the pending rewards have now been zeroed.
Should someone get rewarded for plagiarism? You tell me. No crying yet, but there is a good justified reason in this case and there will be no argument.
Yesterday I met a new HIVE person and I can tell you this guy can write and well.
@dannewton is a photographer and likes to focus on insects and reptiles. He had the sense to create an alternative account named @earthsea to focus on his music tastes, which are extreme metal and definitely not everyone's cup of tea.
I love @earthsea’s taste in music but I’m a little strange that way.
Check out @dannewton's work; now that is proper photography complete with great diction. To me, this is what HIVE is all about.
If you think short-content has a place then I agree. I would say don’t expect to have it gain big rewards if it is one picture and little dialogue.
@sidwrites is a good person to follow, his content is great for new people, easy to ingest, and well presented. I used to write what he does, but he's better at it than me.
If you put in the work, people will notice and your fame will grow.
I feel like HIVE is perceived to be a horrible complex place to be a part of, to the outsider, or it is just not worth the bother.
Do you think HIVE is a toxic environment? It’s confusing as hell but unfriendly, non-tolerating, and harsh. What do you think?

If you found this article so invigorating that you are now a positively googly-eyed, drooling lunatic with dripping saliva or even if you liked it just a bit, then please upvote, comment, resteem, engage me or all of these things.
