Here is my entry to the $30 HBD Logo contest. be in it to win it, organized by @artonmysleeve
First of all, here are the client's requirements
- I cut grass, trim hedges, and do general garden work, I am fun loving but hard-working.
- I am wanting a logo for my business that is bold and only uses 2 colors at the most 3.
- The logo will be printed on to a dark green t-shirt and white background of my flyers and business cards so please keep this in mind when designing your logo
- My logo letters are AGS
In the process of my design, some of my considerations were to use either a pair of pruning shears, spade, or wheel barrow as the major attraction of the logo, but these appeared to be either too big, or limit the positioning of the "AGS" letterings in the logo. That is why I decided to go for a pictorial form of a hand bearing a nursery plant.

The "AGS" is given a bold font, a yellow font colour, and a dark shadow for clarity on any background colour.
I then decided to include a circular patterned background for this, so that it can be easily visible from afar, when it is printed on any shade of green. The circle has a mix of white and light green patterns.
This kinda looks more beautiful, and will look good on a white background - The client's fliers and business card.
The next image shows how this combination looks on a dark green background, which is going to be the colour of the company's dark green t-shirt.
This design was done using a combination of different android apps, and I hope it appeals to potential clients, and attract patronage.
I will try to make this design better within the space of the contest and if I come up with more attractive improvements, I will update this post.
