I wrote a publication about this topic some weeks ago, and I shared a little on my views and what I think quality contents are for the people. We all have our area of interest. We are fed by distinct things. Just like a situation of our personality traits, the silent feed introverts. They feel good in a silent environment, but that isn’t the same for an extrovert. An extrovert is fed by the noise, the sounds, and lively. This doesn’t mean people of these qualities do not share some things in common, but the long interest separates them as humans.
Everyone’s opinions are useful. The Hive blockchain house distinct types of writers and curators. Some content writers here publish daily, but it seems like a waste of time for them. Their post will neither get consumed and will not get any tractions or support. Some of these people feel they are doing pretty pleasant work, but they are not just been noticed.
Does curators curate content based on quality?
We have many huge Hive stakeholders here, and they are actively working to encourage content creators. However, some publications that do not supposed to have $1; will have $50. Are those contents giving any value to the blockchain? Should we call those writers “friends to the whales”?
Parts of one reason I think Steem struggles are situations of just whales and whales friend feeding themselves with votes. I am not a friend to any whale in here and I never plan to friend anyone. I just want to be the friend of all, whale or not. This Hive ecosystem is new, and love and quality should lead.
Opinions on people that sell off their payouts, are they bad?
I read opinions from people that Hivers that sell off their payout should not be voted for again. In some part of the world, the cost for internet connection is high, and livelihoods are not the same. For instance, I had a friend then on Steem and she told me about the cost of internet connection in her country (Israel). She said it only cost $5 a month to browse unlimitedly. It wowed me because, from my side of the world, I spend around $50 a month for internet connection and sometimes it only lasted for 20day plus. If I am publishing content and I get no value for my work, and all that I do is to post on Hive for the month, discouragement would definitely set in. This isn’t the situation from my side because I do a lot.
What quality content do we consume?
Just like I was telling my younger sister some days ago, that she never had the chance to learn from experiences. She grew up when things are good for the Family. Things weren’t like this some years ago, and I never pray she faces what I faced, but there is a popular saying from my side of the world, “If you don’t pass through tough times, you will be naïve over everything”. I told her to consume the stories of people. I told her to be reading books about life experiences.
I said some of these books are written by people that have experienced life and they wish to share their experience with you. This is what I can quality content. SOMETHING I CAN LEARN FROM. It is always good to know a little about everything. I was not a writing code 3 years ago, a call from a friend drove me to consume some contents and I picked up, and now I know what I can do within a quick time. Quality contents are those that I will read and I can pick one or two points from.
Quality content for a depressed person is a publication of HOPE. Quality content for a sick person might be a post about cures. I may be sad for a moment and a comic post would make me laugh and that will be the quality content that I see.
