Hello Hivers! I'm Kristoffer, from Lagos, Nigeria. Being here and starting my Hive journey is very exciting for me. I took the leap of faith thanks to @Jelenaa's guidance. I will like to spend a lot of time here, read a lot of articles and have some fun in the process but I will like to introduce myself first.
The story of my life begins In the city of Lagos, the number one commercial city in Nigeria and the country's capital of entertainment and lifestyle. Though it it not the country's official capital but it is often seen as such. It is a really beautiful city and a land of opportunity.
As a lover of nature and all architecture, the sky scrappers in the distant horizon catch my eye each time I'm travelling through the city, and the sunset while travelling via the state water transport is considered beautiful by me. I've only been on a boat twice, it was a very enjoyable ride which I intend to experience again and perhaps take pictures and dip my hand in the water while in motion provided it is considered safe.
Though I'm not from Lagos state, I often consider myself a Lagosian since I was born and raised there. My entire schooling happened there. Elder sister also had her entire school in Lagos and studied at the University of Lagos as well. So we consider ourselves Lagosians by default. As a Nigerian, Lagos is the perfect place to live if you're looking to have some fun.
Unfortunately, due to certain circumstances- loss of my mom in 2017, I had to leave Lagos to my uncles' place at Ondo state and I haven't been home since then. Well, there's basically nothing left there for me. I still look forward to going back to settle down but that will be when I'm financially stable to a certain degree as life is Lagos is quite expensive and you'd literally spend your life savings on transportation alone.
Above is a very old picture with my favourite glasses before someone broke it. I look very different here and can hardly recognise myself.
Below is a picture of my dear Lagos. Picture is not mine but the source is cited alongside.
I'm the second child and only male child in a family of three. I'm saying three since Dad and Mom are no longer on this plane of existence. Dad passed away 2011 while mom passed away six years after (2017). How time flies. I have a elder sister and a younger sister and that leaves me as the middle born. I don't have a group picture taken with my sisters but I have individual pictures.
Here is my elder sister during her visit to the 02 arena in UK with her husband. I almost forgot to mention that she is married.
This is a picture with her husband!
Here is old picture of my younger sister- I don't have a recent one and I'd have to make -do with this one which was taken on the 28th of December 2020 on the last day of our visit to one of our uncles for the Christmas celebration.
Here is a old picture of me which I took on a random night in the year 2020 after a visit to the dentist and my teeth was sparkling white at the time.
The below picture was taken November 2021 when I visited one of my uncles in Ibeshe-Ikorodu, Lagos three months after my final exams. I stayed there for about two months before returning to Ondo state. There I was able to meet a very beautiful lady named Lola who I became friends with and we've been friends ever since even if things have been weird lately.
I miss my glasses- broke it a month ago, my sight has not been the same ever since. I don't think I'd be able to get another like it. The Optician may not have a similar frame.
Since I use glasses, I have to do a tomato therapy since my glasses mostly marks my nose and gives it a darker colour compared to other parts of my face.
I'm a graduate of Physics and I like to refer to myself as a theoretical physicist even if I've not begun to practice due to the high unemployment rate in the country and all. I remember wanting to be an astronaut while I was growing up but my mindset changed at some point when I saw crashes and accidents in space which involves loss of life. I decided I wanted to be a mechanical Engineer but in the long run I realised that Physics works best for me and kaboom.. I enrolled to study Physics in the university and graduated as one of the best in the department.
Barely one month after my final exam I became a writer on read.cash and realised that writing is something I enjoy very much. I'm not exactly a professional as I still got a lot to learn but I'm pretty confident of my writing skill to a certain degree. I enjoy writing about my daily life and sometimes write research related content depending on the motivation the day brings. Altogether, writing is like my way of escaping reality and I'm glad I found my way here.
I believe in discipline and I always tell myself "don't start what you can't finish" which is why the moment I take a step, I'd always push myself until I attain that required perfection.
I enjoy listening to contemporary music, spending time with children and learning new languages daily. I can speak about four languages altogether and hoping to add more languages to my language database.
I love food too. here is a picture of a combination of sausage (hotdog) with fried egg and corn beef, all eaten with slice bread. it was a very heavy meal which I forced myself to finish as I didn't want it to waste.
I will be sharing my personal experience here on hive, my inspiration, beliefs and literally everything that inspires me and keeps me going regardless of challenges.
I'm glad to be here and I hope my stay here is enjoyable. Thanks to @Jelenaa for her kind gestures and @Jeansapphire for mentioning Hive in her readcash article. I wouldn't have known what I was missing out on.
I should mention that my favourite colour is Blue, which is why I have the colour Blue on in all of my pictures since I don't have shirts of any other colour.
I'm glad to be a part of the Hive family and I look forward to meeting a lot of people here.
Thanks to @megaela for delegating me with HP which I used for this post. I sincerely appreciate the kind gesture. Without him publishing this article today wouldn't have been possible.
All posts and pictures are mine except where stated.
Kristoffer!
