But huh...it felt like I had just blinked my eye and summer was half gone already all of a sudden. 'Where are you heading to this summer?'You probably know this conversation at the coffee machine. Standard small talk which no one is actually listening to, it is just a matter of being polite and making conversation. People answer, laugh around for a bit, and walk on by again. The words are hollow, but always with a smile.
My answer is always the same to this one. I like being in the Netherlands in the summer and that is actually very true. Days are endless with the sun rising at like 4.30 and sun setting at 22.30 which makes you feel like you can hoover outside the entire time.
Barbequeing with some friends starting in the afternoons and hardly planning anything. Just driving somewhere and go on a random walk. Make some food, take it all easy, sleep a lot in naps as well..because who cares, it is still with daylight after you wake up again.
I don't need to go anywhere in summer time!

Boring
This summer has been with awesome weather for weeks honestly which made anything possible as it feels. But with doggo having this surgery done on the paw it also meant that I was home a bit more to make sure the dog wasn't scratching of licking the wound he had.
As written before, the didn't do really well with the hood so it was a matter of just keeping a bit more of an eye on him. No stress on that, just really boring every now and then. Well, not even boring...It just meant that being around the house was more of a thing with people dropping by here as well, which is also fun.
But uhhh...this is around the moment that I am a bit fed up with it again and I need some outside input. Seeing what the city is about, having beers here and there, find out how everyone is doing again.
It is time for some action

So why all the flowers in the snaps?
Yeah good question of why the flowers are there. And the answer is even more simple, it is because they are pretty and they are seasonal.
The hibiscus (hibiscus syriacus) is like one of the certainties of summer. Even though you cut it down entirely at the end of the season and think you have killed it, it will always bounce back and start to grow in spring again.
By the time that it is scorching hot, that is when the hibiscus looks the most happy. Making these big bulbs where you just know new flowers will grow from which are super cool to see grow and open up more by the day..
Did I mention attracting pollinators like a madman as well? The bushes are like humming bees back yards and I love it! (good for my fruit and veggies plants as well that is)
I don't know, these hibiscusses just have some summer vibe having around them like I have. Like let's see what we will be doing, but also a sort of...okay let's put on our colored shirt and hit the road and see where we end up kind of vibe.
That is the vibe how it should be. Bring in the next heat wave here in the Netherlands next week, I am totally ready for it for some extra swimming here and there. And it looks like doggo is also game for it again, so my swimming buddy seems to be back!
I love summer! Bring it on! (and stop making it go so fast again!)
