Spring Has Finally Come... My Health Condition These Days
Finally, spring has come, but the wind is still cool. I need to use the heat pump, especially in the mornings and at night. It's not easy to survive the long winter every year. I took some spring nature photos recently.
The top photo is probably purple willow buds. It's so cool to witness nature recovering little by little, but surely. They looked like they were sleeping for a long time during the cold winter, and now they have finally woken up.
This pretty yellow flower is not a dandelion. It is called coltsfoot. The dandelion season hasn't arrived yet. This flower is very tough, and it sometimes blooms even before all the snow melts. Its bright yellow colour gives me cheerful energy.
Horsetails have also started to appear. They look as fresh as they did last spring. I love eating them, but I don't think I have enough energy to cook with them right now. Hopefully, I'll have the energy to make my annual horsetail meal someday soon.
As I mentioned above, my health condition hasn't been very energetic these days. I guess my body hasn't fully woken up from the long winter yet.
I had surgery two years ago, and although my condition seems fine and I am slowly recovering, the side effects from the surgery are taking longer to heal.
On top of that, I had to undergo some medical exams at the hospital. First, I had a CT scan last year, and this year, I had a gastroscopy last month. I also had a few annual gynecological exams.
Hmm... every time I have medical exams, I feel like I've already dealt with the main health issues. However, an exam is just an exam. Afterward, I have to wait for the results, meet with doctors, get prescriptions, and deal with the main issues. What a long process!
After the gastroscopy, I started taking prescriptions for my condition while waiting for the biopsy results. However, my condition worsened recently, and I had to go to the ER the other day.
Phew! That was so painful and scary. My husband drove me to the ER very quickly. Fortunately, the ER was calm and not too busy, so I was able to receive medical care fairly quickly. I was given a bunch of painkillers, IV fluids, and pills. I also had bloodwork and X-ray exams. The bandages on my arms looked sad.
After coming back from the ER, I had to fight terrible nausea from the morphine. Honestly, the nausea felt tougher than the actual pain. I couldn't eat anything the first day because of the pain, but little by little, I started to recover. It felt just like how nature slowly recovers from winter.
I started with a plain risotto that my husband made for me because I couldn't cook or do anything at that time. Then, I gradually moved on to eating apples, vegan yogurt, and eventually began cooking for myself again.
Finally, I managed to have a small meal of pork and eggplants, risotto, and miso soup. I still can't eat a large amount, but I can eat little by little now.
Fortunately, I didn't need to cancel my work because I work online. I still have to be careful with my health, but today, I feel a little bit of hope.

やっと春が来た…最近の体調
すっかり春らしくなってきましたが、いまだに風は冷たいです。朝や晩はまだエアコンの温風を使用しています。毎年、長い冬を超えるのはなかなかタフです。最近、春の写真を少し撮りました。
いちばん初めに載せた写真はヤナギの芽だと思います。こうして少しずつ確実に回復していく自然を目撃するのは嬉しいです。長くて寒い冬眠を終え、やっと目覚めた様子です。
このかわいらしい黄色の花はたんぽぽではありません。フキタンポポです。春によく見かけるたんぽぽは、この地域ではまだ生えていません。フキタンポポは力強い花で、まだ雪がすべてとけていない時期から花を開きます。この明るい黄色から元気をもらえるような気がします。
つくしの季節もスタートしました。去年の冬と同様に新鮮なつくしがそこら中に生えています。つくしを食べるのは好きなのですが、今採って何かを作る元気がないのが正直なところです。もうじき、つくし料理を作る元気がわいてくるといいのですが。
お伝えした通り、このところエネルギー不足気味です。身体がまだ長い冬から目覚めていないのかもしれません。２年前に手術をしてから少しずつ回復しているように感じますが、手術の後遺症的なものがありますし、完全なる回復までには時間がかかりそうです。
さらに、病院でいくつか検査が重なりました。去年はCT検査を受け、今年は胃カメラの検査を先月行いました。その間にもいくつか婦人科系の定期検査もありました。
うーん…。毎回検査を受けるたびに、もうすでに治療を行なった錯覚に陥りがちですが、検査は単なる検査です。検査後も結果を待って、専門医に会い、処方箋をもらいながら治療をしていかなければなりません。なんとも長いプロセスですね。
胃カメラ後の生検の検査結果を待つ間、処方された薬で治療中です。ところが、最近急に体調が悪くなったので救急病院にいかなければなりませんでした。
ふーう！ものすごい痛みで怖かったです。主人が超がつくほど急いで救急病院まで連れて行ってくれました。幸い、救急病院は落ち着いていて忙しい状態ではありませんでしたので、早めに診察してもらうことができました。あらゆる痛み止めを打ち、点滴と錠剤の痛み止めを使った治療を受けました。血液検査とレントゲン検査もありました。腕に貼られたたくさんのバンデージを見ると悲しくなります。
救急病院から帰ってくると、今度はモルヒネの副作用の吐き気との戦いです。正直言って、実際の痛みよりも薬の副作用による吐き気の方が辛いです。当日は痛みで何も食べられませんでしたが、回復食からスタートしました。まさに、自然界が少しずつ冬から春になるようなゆっくり加減でした。
プレーンのお粥から食べ始めました。まったく動けなかったので、はじめは主人が作ってくれました。そして、少しずつりんご、ヴィーガンヨーグルトなどを食べ始め、次第に自分でも料理ができるようになりました。
最終的には豚肉と茄子の煮物、お粥、味噌汁を食べることができました。まだたくさんは食べられないのですが、今は少しずつ普通の食事を食べられるようになりました。
幸い、オンライなので仕事をキャンセルすることなく済みました。まだまだ気をつけながら暮らさなければなりませんが、ちょっとずつ希望が出てきています。
