Sanctuary | LMAC FreeStyle Collage No. 127

For my current freestyle collage, I wanted to portray the concept of peacefulness and serenity. Below are my steps in creating my collage design.

I knew I wanted a child to represent the person who needed to feel secure. She ran to safety from a vicious canine chasing her. Luckily, she was able to locate a place of protection.

Although my scene may appear to contradict the theme of peace, those tears are happy one to be able to provide a safe haven for the little girl in distress. The image cries, "I will be your sanctuary". Place your burdens and scares upon me, and I will give you rest for my countenance can withstand the battles of life."

To create the scene, I utilized Canva, my design program, to blend the images. My procedures which began with a blank, white canvas. I then added layers of elements in accordance with my upgraded Annual Pro Membership that includes tools to remove backgrounds, detach elements from backgrounds, colorize, resize, filter, duplicate, and reposition items as required.

Perhaps of all the tools, the ability to remove backgrounds thereby creating transparencies of the images and detach various elements is crucial to the blending process.
