The Red planet has become humans most envisioned travel journey and being able to visit and colonize this planet mean a lot to us as it will increase technological innovations there are untapped resources, it would be a place to call second home, as well as it would be good for business. We could call it our alternate universe and maybe that is what it would be in 100 years from now but first what do you know about the Red planet and why do you think scientist, technology companies and world presidents are interested in it?
Mars (The Red Planet)
It is believed that humans first observed Mars in the early ancient Egypt in the 2nd Millennium BCE when Ancient Egyptian Astronomers were observing the sky. It is no doubt that Galileo Galilei in 1610 as it was distinct for its different color compared to other planet. It was also at this time that the rotation and tilting of the planet was discovered. As time went on with improved technology in the 1840, Martian Maps were drawn showing how it looked. Later in 1877, new refined maps showing the planet were drawn. Soon the Percival Lowell mappings showed that water could be in the planet as he believed he saw artificial canals which was one mistake that made people believed that other lives were on the Red planet and people called them Aliens but as time went, this was debunked.

Mars was believed to have water and was later debunked but soon scientist said there was a probability that the planet had water but the water can’t be liquid water on the surface due to the temperature change but rather iced water under the Martian ground or sub glacial lake at 1.5 KM below the surface of the martial ground at the southern pole of the planet.
Mars does look like the Earth but maybe almost double of the Earth in everything. The Earth revolves at 365 days around the sun while Mars revolves at 687 day as it is far away from the sun compared to the earth and earth. Mars Rotates at 24 hours 37 minutes and 22 seconds which is really different from earth.
Mars unlike earth doesn’t have a magnetic sphere, it is believed that billions of years ago, asteroid bombarded Mars and that made it lose it magnetic sphere. The atmosphere of Mars is believed to consist or 96% Carbon(IV)Oxide, 1.93% Argon, 1.89% Nitrogen. The soil of Mars is very dusty and alkaline with 7.7 basic pH, composing of Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium and Chlorine.
With all this, do you think it is worth taking the risk to Mars?
Do you think we can colonize the Mars and make it habitable for us in years?
