BTC $20,000+ ATH Mirage of 2017

Bitcoin's All Time High already breaking through the $20,000 USD ceiling.

I remember? Do you? Were you in crypto at the time? Even if you weren't, I could swear that major news agencies reported BTC breaking through in 2017.
Now consider the following headlines:

"JUST UNDER"?

"ALMOST $20,000"?

"NEW RECORD HIGH ABOVE $19,783"?

Hard to imagine that the following news outlets:

CNN
The Gaurdian
CoinDesk

...respect CoinMarketCap even a little.

OK, granted, even high paying major new agencies may merely grimace at CoinMarketCap requiring the cunning highlighting of each section to zoom in closer on the chart. But c'mon, scroll down:

Maybe there's an explanation as to why these media outlets excluded CMC stats in favor of Coin Gecko or other databases- or will be. Still, CMC is there day-after-day providing insight into the crypto global market unlike any other.

To discount CMC's records in major headlines while pushing a BTC 20k bug is a bit of an irresponsible way to sell their product. Tone it down or prop up Coin Gecko in a headline. After all, only that lizard that's been chaining around all this time deserves to power this round's press of sub 20k- for good or bad.

WHOSE CLAIMING TO HOLD THE OFFICIAL RECORD ANYWAY?
