This is the second post from me detailing the various songs that introduce my book Postcards From Hell.
You can view the first about Child in Time here

This chapter actually references two songs - When a Blind Man Cries - a beautiful haunting blues ballad and Kate Bush's Cloudbusting. It is an unlikely marriage but given the circumstances at the time - the marriage works.
I was the blind man, very much unaware of who I was or why I hurt the way I did. And I cried.....
Both songs are included below along with a beautiful video version provided by Richie Sambora.
The original version of When a Blind Man Cries contains some of the most delicate guitar work you can imagine. For that reason alone it is worth a listen.
Despite not making the final cut of the seminal Machine Head album, When a Blind Man Cries has become something of an underground classic. It has been covered by Metallica, Richie Sambora and a host of other prog/blues/rock bands.
It regularly features in Deep Purple current set list.
Kate Bush's Cloudbusting is typical Kate Bush. Wonderful arrangements, superb vocals and an engaging story. It was the story (and the video) that got me.
