Creed, an American band that has never been (physically) out of America. I got to know Creed a long time ago through a colleague of mine. He realized that I listened to quite a bit of heavy metal and one day he asked me if I knew Creed. I didn't know them but really loved the album (which he gave me) Human Clay. Intense guitar riffs, amazing drums and the unique voice of Scott Stapp.
It's really special that they never did a world tour, actually a bit like Elvis who never toured (except when he was in military service).
Creed has had great hits, but success (especially on the singer) has also had a negative effect. Addicted, paranoid, broke..... Really sad, isn't it?
The songs Creed created are for me a real legacy of my musical history. Ar eyou Ready is on of those songs, whenever I listen to it in my car, on my headset.... It reminds me of that time in life where music was just about the most important thing in life (besides my wife of course)...

This clip, of Higher. It resembles just about what the ultimate gig means to me.... Just on top of the world, playing the greatest music :)

The biggest world hot of Creed was absolutely "With arms wide open".... The line in the lyric's "We created life".... for me all about my kids, "we created life" ...and what a life... That's music, a deeper meaning....
When I listen to Creed I always have this resemblence with Kane, a dutch band which had a lot of national success.
The drums, vocals... they are a lot like Creed..... I loved them a lot... but they (like creed) stopped on top of their succes...
Kane had played a "Flashback to U2", a ode to U2. I had the luck to be there... They were awesome....
Have a great musical weekend,
Peter
