Description from Strava:
I could hear it raining last night and it may have disturbed my sleep somewhat. When my alarm eventually went off (6:45) it sounded like it may have stopped, so I had a look whilst letting the cat out. It did not look too bad, so I put on my running gear.
First job of the day was to feed the chickens. We have been putting their food away at night so that the rats do not eat it all. Measures are being taken to deal with those pests. As I set off up the road it started raining again, but once I am out I keep going and it did not last for long. I just had to dodge all the puddles.
I did my regular route as it is just so convenient. Around 40 minutes is a good workout and the hill adds to the effort. It always takes my legs a while to get going, so the climb was not quick. Once I was up there I tried to keep the pace up and pushed harder on the way down.
The result was my quickest pace on this route in a long while and actually better than my average. I need to keep up this progress. I will be marshalling at parkrun this week as they needed people, but I shall run it again soon.
I got through a couple of podcasts this morning. Somewhere On Earth had an interview with Dame Steve Shirley who was an innovator in IT outsourcing. Then there was Linux Matters with lots of geeky chat.
As I write this the sun is out, but there are clouds. I hope to get a fair bit of solar power today. The battery is charging up.
