Description from Strava:
I was in the office today, but wanted to get a run in. The weather has been overcast, but still fairly warm. As I went to the changing rooms there were a few spots of rain and the ground was already wet. As I went out it seemed to have stopped.
I tend to look on Google Maps to find new routes, but I may end up improvising. After an initial downhill stretch it was uphill. Some of that was on grass as I tried to find a way through. I climbed about 40m in the first half and then decided i did not want to run up any more hills, so I headed back via the old town. I stayed off the main roads to avoid crowds and cars.
I knew there was a final climb to get back to work, so I took it easy. I am happy enough with the pace through. I am happy enough at around 6min/km, but hope to improve on that by keeping up my runs.
As usual I was really sweaty by the time I got back, but I had to get in the shower and back to work. That just means I sweat a bit more afterwards. I was listening to Desert Island Discs featuring Rob Delaney who is in the Deadpool movie. He has had some family tragedy with losing a young son.
There is plenty of graffiti to be found in the Stevenage underpasses as well as some sanctioned murals. This one is fairly new.
As I went back to work it was raining again, so I managed to miss that. It might have cooled me down a bit though.
I was watching more Olympics this evening. The Brits missed out on gold this time in the 1500m. The speed of those guys and the ladies in the 3000m steeplechase is just amazing. I will never be anything like that fast.
