Description from Strava:
I did not run during the week and so I have some catching up to do. parkrun was fun yesterday, but I was running slower than usual and I needed a long run. Last night my @swing47 partner in jazz came over and we worked through some tunes for our gig in Hitchin next weekend. It has been a while since we played in this format.
The next few days will be warm with highs of 32C, so I wanted to get out fairly early. I just aimed to do some variant of my long Sunday loop that would depend on how I felt. I had a good drink before I went out.
It did not feel too hot to start with and I took it steady up to Fairfield. There were a few other runners out there and I expect most people will run in the morning or evening to avoid the worst of the heat. I took the long way around Stotfold and it was starting to feel hard. I saw the Morris Minor for sale around there. It did not show a price, but it should not need road tax, so could be cheap to run. That car could be older than me!
There was a festival in Stotfold yesterday and they were taking things down this morning. I did not get over there. I did hear the Red Arrows display team fly over and caught a glimpse of them. They may have visited a few local events as there was also something going on at the Shuttleworth air museum.
I plodded on back home and just managed to round it off at 12km. The pace was a little quicker than I did at parkrun, but I need to get out again when I can to do more intervals. I did have a swim yesterday and I will be in the pool again today. I do not log those on Strava as I do not go very far or fast in our little pool. I can do 4 or 5 strokes on a length and it is just deep enough for that.
Enjoy your Sunday and stay cool!
