Description from Strava:
Yes, I did run yesterday, but I wanted another run this week with a day to recover before parkrun on Saturday. Today I was back at the local hill for some intervals.
I run a few hundred metres up a hill that is not too steep, but enough to make me work harder. I take it very gently on the way down. The photo was after one of these sprints looking back down the hill. The pile of clothes that was in the road yesterday has been moved to the path. On the other side is a field with some horses whose owners are trying to deter people from going too close. There is a notice about not feeding them. If you give horses the wrong food it can make them very ill.
The sprints were hard work and a little slower than last time. My old legs just do not move very quickly, but I still hope to improve. On the way down I tend to walk to the end of the fence on the right and jog the rest of the way. I turn around at a road hump and there are bollards at the top as my 'finishing line'.
There are always a few people walking or cycling up and down there. I do not know what they think of this old man trying to run.
After I got home we had a little more rain, but probably not enough to soak into the ground. I have been watering some of our plants. We have tomatoes in grow-bags that show clear signs of drying out if I do not attend to them. The fruit is coming anyway, but they are all still very green.
I hope we get clearer skies today to provide some more solar power. The forecast predicts up to 28C today, but stormy at the weekend. It is not looking so windy though.
The weekend is coming! Run free!
