Description from Strava:
This is actually mostly a walk, but logging it as a run to see if Strava2Hive picks it up.
I have not done parkrun and have hardly run for the last month. Over three weeks ago I came down with COVID and it hit me fairly hard. It was like the flu and I was going back to bed some mornings as I felt so bad. I have since been back to work and have tested negative several times, but it is still affecting me. My head feels all bunged up and I have seen advice to avoid strenuous exercise. I have thought about walking parkrun in the last few weeks, but not felt up to it before. Today I was not feeling too bad and so went along.
It was a fairly warm morning and lots of people had turned out. I chatted to a couple of people I know at the start and then tagged along at the back. There were a few people behind me, including the tail walkers. I was aiming for a brisk walk around 9min/km.
The leaders overtook me as I passed the finish after half a lap and most of the field had lapped me by the time I passed it again. The last lap was fairly quiet. I overtook one guy who seemed to have cramp, but said he was okay and I nearly caught another who was walking some of it. I knew I would be one of the last, but I did about as well as I expected. I did jog the last few hundred metres.
As I went around a few marshals asked how I was and they understood when I said I was getting over COVID. Lots of people have it and the issues are well known.
I am hoping this will all appear on Hive via the Strava2Hive app that I just registered for. If you are writing up your runs on Strava then you can earn from them. Mine will appear here: @steevc/posts. Peakd is one of several front ends for this blockchain.
