I just finished a 10.011km running that lasted about 0hh:56mm:11ss !

I was expecting to not run as the forecast was for rain all day. When I woke up I could not hear rain and it did not look too bad out, although there are puddles everywhere. I prefer to keep to my running routine, so on went the shorts and off I went on my usual loop.
It was cool out, but not too bad really. I soon warm up. I generally seem to start off a bit slow and get quicker as I go on. I was distinctly quicker on the second half and got a personal segment record on the way to Stotfold. It can sometimes feel like you are not making progress, but then something like that gives you hope. Mind you, we are overwhelmed with data now. Strava has a 'relative effort' chart. I assume that if I keep on target with that then I am doing okay.
There were quite a few runners out despite the miserable weather. I overtook a mother/daughter plus dogs couple at one point. The oddest sight was a motorcycle crash helmet on a bollard. It is not the sort of thing you would easily lose.
The last couple of kilometres were without podcasts. I use Pocketcasts and lately it has been having issues with some shows. They will play for a while and then just stop. I suspect it is an issue with the app as it affects more than one show. I need to look into that as running is when I do most of my listening.
It is London Marathon today with just a few professionals doing the official course without crowds and many others doing 'virtual' races. There are ten men who have done every race since it started. They are getting on, but it looks like they plan to still run. One is 90! Maybe there is still time for me to do a marathon.
Run free and stay well.
