I just finished a 5.001km running that lasted about 0hh:27mm:0ss !

I missed a couple of parkruns due to being away, but was back to it today for only my second run of the week. I did my usual cycle over to Letchworth that involves a fairly big hill, so I was well warmed up when I got there. They have moved the start and finish again. I think this has made the course a lot closer to 5km as I covered exactly that according to my watch. The new route does remove one pass of a downhill section that may affect times a little.
I tried not to go off too quickly this time. The first bit is along a very rough farm track, so you had to be careful and it was not easy to pass with the crowd before it thinned out. A very pregnant lady went past me early on, but I got in front again. She was not too far behind me at the end, which is impressive.
The main hill never seems to get any easier, but at least I can keep running all the way. The course was not muddy this time, but there was some long grass if you wanted to overtake in places. I did not do too much of that anyway. On the second climb I did pass a couple of people. The finish is on the far side of the playing fields, so you can see it from a long way off. I had nothing much left to try and sprint for it and a few people passed me.
I thought my watch said just under 26 minutes, but it was actuall nearly 27 and so not as good as I first thought. It is still not terrible and I can hope to improve. I need to do more speed work and hills to get the strength for that. I managed two personal bests on Strava segments,
I ought to volunteer to help out again with the run so others have the chance to run.
I cycled back through Stotfold for a change and to avoid the nettles, but I did not foresee the huge puddle in one of the underpasses where I got a bit wet.
Run free and stay well.
