I’m literally blown away by what I just did. Whattt!!
I just purchased MTN airtime in Ghana with HBD Via Hive Keychain and throughout the process all I could say was wow!. I am so amazed by this. I had to even quickly call my hive friends to let them know what was happening.
Funny thing is, I’ve been wanting to buy airtime the whole of today but I didn’t have money in my mobile money wallet and I was feeling so reluctant to go out to load it.
I had already come across @mcsamm’s post explaining how to buy Vodafone airtime with HBD using Hive Keychain but in my mind I genuinely thought it would be technical and complicated. One try won’t hurt, I thought. Trust me when I say it was so easy and fast.
Let me show you how to do it;
Log into your hive keychain and put this link in your browser https://www.bitrefill.com/buy. Create an account.
After creating the account, tap on the three lines on your top left corner. Select phone refills. Dial your phone number in the number box and select which network provider you want to buy the airtime or data for.
Select the amount of airtime and add to cart. After adding to cart, select check out, lightning and skip the wallet section step.
Tap on copy to copy the invoice created for your order.
Right on your hive keychain app, open another browser and put this link https://www.v4v.app/ in the browser.
Here, just tap on paste to paste the invoice you copied and select the hbd with keychain logo beneath. Confirm your payment from the pop up menu.
You will receive an immediate receipt in your email and recharge in your airtime account. Ta da! You have purchased your airtime with hbd.
This was really fast and easy.
I really can’t wait to shop with hbd henceforth.
In Ghana, making digital payment is actually a struggle sometimes but I am actually feeling rest assured that with this initiative, things would be very easy now.
I’m also very excited about the kind of things we could do with this. Imagine shopping online and not having to think about the fact that you don’t have a visa card to pay but you could just open your keychain and make payment with HBD. The things we can do with this are really endless.
