The prompt for this week is exciting as it took me down memory lane.
Let me take you down memory lane to the 22nd Of August, 2022 when I first joined Hive.
Everything was new and different, different from the regular social media platforms I have always known.
So many rules, so many communities, so many terminologies and that was my first challenge.
I wasn't a professional writer, I only wrote for fun on my WhatsApp status and then I wanted more audience so I created a blogspot for it via blogger.com.
That Blogspot was way easier and I could navigate around myself until I found my way down to Hive through an anonymous reader.
Fast forward to when I joined Hive, I had the major challenges of understanding the terminologies, posting in the right community, using the right tags and writing consistently.
Since I made my intro in the #OCD community I felt all articles of mine could fit there, so I started to bombard the community with all of my articles including stories and poems๐๐.
Many people came around to help me under my comment section suggesting where each of my articles fit and that was how I found other communities like the #blockchainpoet #inkwell #scholarandscribe and the likes and then my quest to find other communities began.
I never failed to ask questions every time, I would ask people questions under their comment sections and I got answers to most of my questions.
Concerning my Resoucre credit, I think some people delegated resource credit to me and explained that it was like my cooking gas to carry out any transaction or activity here on the blockchain.
The use of the right tags was the worst challenge I faced, Even after knowing the community to post, I didn't know which tag to use, I solved this problem by reading the rules of each community, for some the appropriate tags are usually at the top of their community.
Another way I solved this problem was to read other people's posts in their community and check which tag they used until I learned that some tags can be used generally like;
#pob #pimp #vyb #waivo #hive-engine #neoxian #palnet #proofofbrain #creativecoin. So I started to use these general tags alongside the community tag.
Writers Block.
Oh my God, this one was a huge challenge for me, some days my head was blank as to what to write, and I would go for days without writing, Then I realized I could join the prompt to be inspired, so I began joining prompt I was very comfortable writing and with time I started to write at least there a week.
Another challenge was I felt like I wasn't seen or heard by anyone, ha!! I remember my post back then had not even one vote or comment, it shattered my heart so much, I felt like I wasn't even doing well until I realized that it's not a miracle, one must be ready to put in the work as well.
Do you read other people's blogs? I took it upon myself to find people myself, I read other people's posts and engaged genuinely and with time, I started to have followers and people started to visit my blog as well.
I was oblivious as to what pexel.com /Unsplash were, I downloaded my images from Google and didn't even know how to source them until I joined the PYPT on dreemport. Shadows lovingly taught me how to source my pictures and what site to use.
To source your picture you should use this code. [Source](paste the link from peel.com)
How did I hear of PYPT? (Pimp Your Post Thursday's)
Someone shared one of my posts on the show and I was tagged/mentioned and that was it.
After four months on Hive, There came a prompt on a new year resolution and plans for Hive, I attempted that prompt and stated that I would be more active on Hive by creating a schedule and plan which I did.
I drafted a schedule and how I intend to implement it.
Each day has its community to post in, and I ensured I posted in communities that were my niche so as not to find writing tedious but enjoyable. Thankfully ever since January till date, I have been publishing daily and then I realized the more you write the easier it becomes that you get inspired even from the littlest things around you.
This is my response to this quest on which says;
What are the major challenges you faced being on the Hive blockchain and what solutions did you find to them? Show us the way that we may learn from your ways.
These were my major challenges on Hive but being inquisitive and ready to learn helped me a lot, more so finding my niche helped me enjoy blogging even more and just like a child who is learning to walk, I had help from others, they held my hands and showed me how to walk and I am still thankful.
