I am excited to participate in this week's prompt. I will be sharing my take on the Role I play in keeping the home safe and free from infection.
Recently there has been a high rate of infections and diseases in the world today so in regards to this everyone must make it a priority to ensure that our homes are free and safe from infection and diseases. Health is wealth and our health must be a priority to us. Every member of the family has one responsibility or the other to create a home that is not just clean, but free from infections and Diseases. A Clean Home is one that is free from diseases that includes cleaning the house regularly, use of Insecticides and pesticides to drive away insects that can cause diseases and also ensuring that your drainage is free for free access of water to flow.
As an individual what is your role in keeping your home healthy and safe?
As an individual there are certain roles to take to ensure that your home is healthy and safe from infection and diseases which includes:
Personal Hygiene: This is one thing many people underate and do not prioritize. We should endeavour to prioritize regular and thorough hand washing with soap and water. This is one of the easiest and effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. Many people see this action as being a difficult one to wash the hands regularly. We must make it a habit to wash our hands after coming home, before eating, and after using the restroom. Hand sanitizers should be kept in accessible places around the house to be used when soap and water are not available to help curb disease and infection in the home.
Cleaning and Disinfecting Regularly: Most people take cleaning for granted i have stayed with a friend that never for once cleaned the house before since we stayed together most times i will just leave the house and allow her stay in the unclean house all by herself and most times i wonder how she will cope when she get married and begin to have children. Another aspect that alot of people overlook is personal cleanliness and hygiene. This cut across keeping our homes thoroughly clean and disinfected regularly to make it safe and free from infection and diseases. Places like the toilet, Bathroom and kitchen where germs are likely to germinate should be cleaned and disinfected regularly.
Ensure that the Home has Proper Ventilation: many homes are not well ventilated and as a result of this, it does not give access to fresh air to circulate. Therefore, the home should be well-ventilated by opening our windows regularly especially at dawn and at night to allow fresh air to circulate and reduce the airborne pathogens that can cause infection and diseases.
What Tips should be put in place to ensure that our family members are safe and free from infection?
We must educate our family members on the need to practice good personal hygiene by washing their hands regularly and using hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available. Alot of people do not have a habit of washing their hands regularly so this awareness must be created to ensure a safe and a healthy home.
We must ensure that our family members receive recommended vaccines that will protect them from diseases and infection.
Lastly, we must ensure that our family members practice safe food handling by washing hands before handling food and also cooking food properly to curb disease and infections.
In maintaining a healthy and safe home, every member of the family should be involved. Everyone should be responsible for keeping the house safe and clean from infections and diseases. With these approaches, our homes will be free and safe from infections and diseases.
