Writers and public speakers come close, business minded individuals and entrepreneurs come closer. What I am about is say now is a little secret that has helped me and multiple professionals standout in business and career pursuit. Any business that does well certainly know something that is working for them. To do well, struggle to be at the knowing end. You are not asked to know everything but you must know the nitty-gritty of your profession and the news in it. I will stay on the second part of this. That's the secret. Your interest should be Discovery, News and Trends. Any business that is not discovering what's making the news in his area of industry, understanding the trends and either leveraging it or overriding it may be left behind. Not all news should be ignored. Not all trends are not worthy. You can not makes news when you don't know the news. Going by a worthy trend that aligns to your brand values is right.
Anything supporting you to discover more about your niche or business should be paid attention to. Social media does me well by keeping me surrounded with news. It is my means of discovery and my brand has become more exposed and updated. Just one discovery you make for your brand or business can stir your turning point and launch you into a new phase. Take action with what you know. There is surely an untapped oil well in your industry. You only get to know through discovery.
Know that you should not let your fears have a better part of you. Before trying out something new, your first thought may not be what you expect. Fears could suddenly cloud your mind especially when what you wish to do is unusual. You should face those fears.
You too can make news. Stay authentic and unique.
Before I studied this online business thing beyond surface level, I used to think when people make claims about how much they have made from selling a product or monetizing their skill, that they were lying. I won't undermine the fact that some persons are liars and make outrageous claims. But then, there are a lot of possibilities on the internet. Anything is achievable if the right strategies and the needed work is done. According to how the experts I have worked with doing my experiences in this space have done and advanced, I can now put it this way to you all that if you hear someone says, “I made xyz in one year,” and the amount is too big for your mind to grasp the possibility, instead of saying it’s a lie, ask these 7 questions and you will know if the person is saying the truth or not:
What are you selling?
What’s the unit price of what you are selling?
What platform are you using to sell the product or service?
How many leads do you have in your list?
How many units of the product can be purchased at once?
What are your traffic sources?
And what’s your level of expertise?
There are many people who have been on hive but don't know how to navigate around it, and there are so many people who have been on Facebook for 10 years but do not know that people are making from Facebook. If someone has the capacity to reach 100,000 people every day with his sales message and he’s selling a product or service of N200,000 per unit, you don’t expect him to have the same result with someone who sells a N1,000 product before an audience of 2,000 people. If the person selling a 1k product before 2,000 people keep shouting, “It’s a scam,” when the other person talks, he or she will never ask the right questions that will move him or her to the next level. People will definitely have different levels of result in this online space. If you see someone doing more than you thought was possible, swallow your pride and go and ask how that person was able to achieve that result. If it means paying for a one-on-one session, pay so that you can learn the exact strategies you will need to get that result that will change you current level.
