Good day, amazing people of Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hiveghana community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt. Giving back.
Giving is one thing I enjoy doing the most; it must not be something big. What matters is the heart, my pastor will always tell me. When you are giving, don’t allow your left hand to know what your right hand is giving. I have this ideology that giving shouldn’t be noisy. I dislike people who give to show off.
Giving is one selfless act I know; putting a smile on the face of my receiver makes me happy. There is this fulfilment I always have within me whenever I give a helping hand to people in need. I have got to realise no matter how poor you may think you are, there are people who are better off, and they are the people you should help.
Having a heart of giving is another thing. There are people who are too rich, but they don’t have the heart to give. Coming of age, I get to realise that giving is not all about giving money; giving a listening ear to someone is an example of giving.
Someone who is not generous can’t be a giver. For you to have that heart of giving, you must be generous. For someone like me who doesn’t have much money to give, I channel a means I can also give to the society.
When it comes to education, my community's standard of education is too poor; the majority of these kids don’t go to school. I am someone who has a passion for education. Every evening I organise a class for these kids because they are the future of tomorrow, and education is very important. Knowledge is power; if they didn’t acquire the knowledge, it will not be nice. Teaching is that one thing I can give to my community.
Most times I fetch water for the old people in my community who can’t do that on their own. Seeing those smiles on their faces always makes me feel fulfilled. Whenever I am giving to the old, I do it with everything in me. The majority of my charity work goes to the aged people.
There is a blessing that comes with giving. Don’t always be a receiver; no matter how little it is, try and offer a helping hand to people around you. I understand that most times it is not easy to give; it is a gradual process. It must not be something huge. Things like donating to charity, volunteering and so on are also acts of giving.
Don’t wait until you have enough before you give; start from the little you have.
How do you offer help to people around you? Are you in the category that always waits to have enough before they can offer help. I will be delighted to read your thoughts on this post; below is the link to my post.
This is my response to the weekly prompts, #hiveghana.
