I hope you all are doing well, I hope Hive has been treating you all well, have you guys made friends? Are you constantly learning the ropes? Do you feel a bit discouraged? Are you struggling with visibility? Do you think Hive is not for you? Do you see other Hiveans doing better than you? Do you feel lost in the mix? Do you want to give up?
Dearest Newbies if you are going through any of the above-mentioned categories guess what? you are not alone, you read it right, you are not alone, most oldies you see here still go through some of these but the only difference is that they don’t let that get in the way of them enjoying the platform, I go through most of these sometimes, there are times I feel so discouraged and I just skip writing for days but it doesn’t take too much to revive my Hive spirit again.
Do you want to give up real soon? Please don’t, we love to have you around and would love you to stick around here for a very long time.
Adding to most of the pieces of advice you have probably seen over and again on this blockchain which are engagement, joining community, participating in contests and prompts, etc. I would love to add practical ones to the mix.
To start with whenever you feel discouraged I would advise you to read people’s Hive anniversary posts, like they say, seeing is believing right?. Anniversaries are taken very seriously on Hive, it’s that time of the year when you go down memory lane, reminiscing about how you started on Hive and how it is going, Anniversary posts are written with so much warmth and love that you can practically feel the Hiveans emotions, you see their struggles and their successes and guess what you find it relatable and seeing how far this Hivean has gone spurs you to push harder, I get super pumped whenever I read anniversary posts. To test this my theory you can go read a random anniversary post and come back to tell me how you felt after reading it😃
Commenting nicely on other author's posts and your post, dropping comments filled with love and warmth is one thing I do, maybe it’s because of my nature as I am a big softie (you did not just read that 😂) if I love your post I don’t fail to tell you how amazing it is and I will genuinely drop a nice comment, you know that type of comment that makes the author smiles and a confirmation that he or she is doing well, that’s the type of comment I like to drop. Come to think of it don’t we all love such comments when we see them on our posts? Doesn’t it make you smile and make you want to write that instant? Yes people that’s the feeling I am talking about🥰🥰 and you know what happens when you comment nicely on people’s posts, people will want to check you out and honestly, that’s how friendships are born🥰😉
Please, newbies, refrain from dropping spam comments like “nice post”, thank you.
Keep showing up, don’t go all MIA on Hive, and expect us to remember you when you waltz back in, we love you and would want to constantly see you. Think of Hive like a newborn baby that gets used to his or her mother because the child sees his or her mother continuously.
Newbies, explore Hive, Hive is too big to get bored, and no one is gonna reprimand you for exploring rather we would even applaud you.
Newbies, Hive is sweet when you have friends, it makes it easier for you to stay longer, you can’t find friends by vanishing. As someone would say “The most genuine friendships are born on Hive”. On Hive we don’t judge, we don’t laugh at your mistakes, we take it all in and correct and support you in the little way that we can, if you think I am wrong, try posting an embarrassing thing about yourself and watch how Hiveans are going to react to it.
Newbies, here on Hive we are one big extended family, you just have to find where you fit in and grow from there. The ride might not be smooth but trust me as you progress it gets easier and better, me for example when I newly joined I could take days and days to get inspired to write about a particular topic but with time that changed and so did my writing style change.
It can be heartbreaking when you see little or no upvotes but Hey! Just know you’d recover it soon hehehhehe.
I see you, other Hiveans see you too and we all are rooting for you both directly and indirectly, give Hive a chance and I promise you, you will never regret it😃😃
Thank you
Yours Lovely “not so Newbie”
Ibbtammy🥰🥰
