This year started like every other, I had plans, but truth is, I didn’t expect things to move this fast. From just trying to find my feet in the digital space, I can boldly say now that I’ve moved from being just a “try and error” digital marketer to becoming a qualified, confident one, and I’m grateful for that.
I still remember the days when I was just doing random designs, taking small gigs here and there, nothing really structured. I used to feel like I wasn’t doing enough, like I was just floating in this big space called “digital marketing” without any clear direction. But this year came with a different energy. I told myself I needed to take it more serious, not just to get clients but to actually understand what I was doing and build a name for myself.
I began studying more about graphics design, not just how to make things look good, but how to communicate through design. I started diving deep into lead generation strategies, sales copy, email marketing, and how to position businesses online. Social media management also became something I fell in love with. The ability to grow pages, create engaging content and help brands find their voice online became more exciting to me.
Now, here’s the real good part, I am now officially on Fiverr and Upwork. Not just having accounts there, but actively offering my services, and it feels so good to say that! These platforms used to feel far-fetched to me. Like, I would see people say “I made my first $100 on Fiverr” and I’ll just nod, not knowing my own time was coming. But now I’m there too, with confidence, skills and experience to back it up.
It’s not about advertising myself, really. I just feel thankful that I didn’t give up when things felt slow. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m no longer where I used to be, and that matters a lot.
One big lesson I’ve learnt so far is don’t rush the process. Growth takes time, and it’s okay to feel lost sometimes. Those lost moments are part of the journey. Another lesson is never stop learning. I thought I knew digital marketing until I went deeper, there’s always something new to learn in this space.
Looking ahead, I’m excited for what’s next. I want to keep improving, help more businesses grow, and keep enjoying this digital journey I’ve started. I know there's still so much ahead, but if this half of the year could be this productive, I can’t wait to see what the rest of 2025 has in store.
So yeah, from a random guy doing graphics on his phone to now a certified digital marketer on top freelance platforms, I’m just grateful.
