Human beings are unique creatures, we have so many feelings that we exhibit and one of them is boredom.
Boredom simply refers to a state of mind where one feels restless, unsatisfied or uninterested in their current engagement, activity or surroundings.
No one can say that he or she hasn't experienced boredom before, it is natural. Some get bored easily while some do not,
Also there are various things that can trigger this feeling of boredom in individuals. Some can be trivial while others, much bigger.
I am not a boredom-buster, I do experience boredom and it can be triggered by any of these;
When I do not really understand the way and manner of completing a task, assignment or a difficult situation, like I do not have this slightest idea to handle it. It can even be even frustrating that the more I try to get all the aces together the more it falls. The next thing I will do is to allow it be for the meantime.
Another thing that can make me feel bored is if I find myself in an environment, event or a gathering that I do not fit in, like whatever is going on there do not resonate with me, I will just feel bored instantly and the next thing is to excuse myself.
Also being around people who always try to control and take over conversations, talk too much about themselves without giving room for others to contribute. I really can't stand them.
These and more are the things that can make me feel bored and to be able to handle it, I do some of these:
- I Sleep
You may ask if sleep helps in coping with, yes, it does for me.
Sleeping is like hitting the reset button for one's body and mind. It is during the time of sleeping that the body repairs itself and consolidates memories.
I find it easy to sleep that's why it works well for me and I get up feeling refreshed, and with a clear mind.
- I listen to music
There's a popular saying that music is the food for the soul and I don't dispute that.
Listening to your favorite songs is another great way to snap out of boredom, if you haven't tried it, I suggest you do so any day you feel bored.
I do not only allow the lyrics and rhythm of the song to waste, I also sing along and shake my body, yes, I dance. I'm a hot stepper right from when I was small. If you are in doubt, I invite you to join me on the dance floor let's step it out 😂.
- I engage on Hive
I see Hive as my stress relief and boredom killer. Reading beautiful contents and engaging with users really help take my mind off any stress or boredom. Another one is micro-blogging on leothreads otherwise called threads.
I am proudly a #threadsaddict and can spend hours threading because it's fun, educative, and informative too.
Sometime ago I made a post on my WhatsApp status saying;
If you look for me here and can't find me, come to leothreads.
. * I visit the garden
In some of my posts, I've talked about my garden. It may sound funny but my garden is the nearest place that I visit in order to kill boredom. So whenever I'm home and I feel bored and not interested in carrying any of the other activities earlier mentioned, my garden is the next point of call and there must be something to keep me engaged. I check how the crops are doing, and even speak to them. I speak to my crops - commending the ones that are growing well and scolding the ones that aren't, funny right?. Well gardeners here can testify to this.
Most times I go with my phone just to capture insects, and I always do, lol.
- I go for a walk
As we know walking It's not only good for physical health, but also for mental health. I like to go for a walk around my neighborhood as it helps clear my head and I get to enjoy the beauty of nature and receive fresh air too. Seeing the birds fly around while chirping, the butterflies perching from one flower or grass to the other, the dragon fly skating about always have a healing effect on me and by the time I'm through with the walk, I feel so happy, refreshed, motivated, and sometimes tired and hungry 😂

Final Note
It is very important for one to find the best ways to cope with boredom whenever it sets because failure to do so might lead to unproductivity at work, or business, problems in relationship, undue stress and depression.
Don't let boredom weigh you down, snap out of it.
