I saw this first prompt and was going to skip it because I feel I don't have a skill like my sister who can make really cool hairstyles or like my mum who has this born passion for nursing people and even making cool hairstyles too.
Sometimes I ask myself if I'm a part of my family because everyone of them have a skill anyone would be love to have but I can't think of any that I have and so, because of that, I have plans to learning something new from the comfort of my home since it would be too much of a hassle to learn under someone in this part of my world... Speaking from experience lol.
But hey! I'm not skill-less if there's a word like that 😅 I have something I can showcase, teach people and make lots of money with it.
While I admire what people do and working on gaining a skill by learning and practicing to perfection, I have one I was born with and another I just picked up from others and enjoy doing. This two skills have proven to help me become who I am today, being proud of what I can do and what I will do in the future.
They are just two skills now that I can do and get to a best in them but I'm not stopping with just these two as I have it planned to learn and become good in another passion I've come to love too.
My main skill and the one I'm most passionate about is, SINGING.
This skill of mine was discovered when I was like five? What I am sure is, I have loved singing from a very little age and I had the best supporter in my dad and my siblings who have also loved to sing too. My family is full of beautiful singers, extended family included so I'm not surprised where I got my skill from.
What makes each of our singing skills standout is the part that I try to improve on how I sing, where I sing and what I sing which is benefiting me in so many ways I can't even start counting. One major thing I've learnt from my skill is building confidence and my finances.
Starting out on Hive, making covers and going for singing competitions, all that has earned me money and also make me feel that I have something for the world to see. Even to boost this skill of mine, I've decided to improve on it by expanding on my reach.
I would definitely love to teach people my skill as I feel it's another way to improve more on it, the more I teach is the more I know about what I have.
My second skill and a favourite pick up one is, making and packaging food and candies.
This one is a bit off considering the fact that I haven't shared contents here on Hive about this skill of mine. That is because I keep procrastinating to improve on this skill and by waiting for the right time and equipment to make this skill stand out for me.
I love to cook but I think my favourite part is being able to package it to look so lovely for the eyes and make anyone want to have a taste of it. Of course, I'd want it to be as delicious as it looks so I don't draw attention to what isn't worth it.
I've once taken this skill seriously when I had just finished my secondary school final exam and was always at home doing almost nothing. My aunt supported me to start a small business with this skill and I can remember I made a lot of profits and good remarks on my skill.
I wasn't born with this skill but I feel I had the love for it as it didn't take me too much time to learn it when I saw someone do it with so much passion. Since I discovered this skill of mine, I've been finding ways to improve on it but procrastination is getting the best of me.
It won't continue that way though, this year I've set plans to make the best use of this year on my skill and self improvements to a more dynamic growth. I would gladly teach anyone my skill if I get the opportunity to but while I'm at it, I plan to improve on my skill to perfection.
