Adulthood no doubt is a stage where we have no choice than to make sacrifices and accept challenges that comes our way just to put things in other. As a kid growing up, we always have this mindset that our parents are always there to provide for us that makes us live a life without stress.
Back then as kids, we aren't bothered for anything because we believe our parents are in position to provide for every of our necessities without even wondering to know if it is easy for them or not. However that mindset begins to change as we grow up and finally be in that position as well to experience adulthood.
Adulthood is really a challenging stage especially when you have a family to take care of. One aspect that makes adulthood more challenging is when finance becomes an issue and as we know without money most of our problems wouldn't be solved instead it will generate more problems for we humans.
In Africa, especially in Nigeria, we have this mentality that the financial aspect should be focused on the man alone where he has to provide for the family and cater for other financial issues. While the woman is in the position to take care of the home. However both gender have a major role to play because none is actually easy as their personal life is been diverted to their children as that priority becomes an important one to cater for.
As a salary earner, adulthood becomes more challenging especially when the income is not enough to cater for the family. Imagine being a salary earner where you have to transport yourself to work everyday to and fro from the same salary and also you have to provide for the family and other necessary things needed in the home.
It becomes frustrating when we can't balance the situation and this however makes most people go into debt that even makes the matter worst. However, some people don't see it that way as they are in position to balance the situation but when one isn't capable it becomes a bigger issue.
I started to experience my own adulthood when I was in the higher institution because back then I had to cater for myself in a more challenging way where I had no one to help and I had to pay for my school fees and other fees required in school. This then made me to look for work so as to balance the situation which wasn't easy.
Feeding was an issue because I had to manage what I have, so most times I eat is just once in a day which wasn't easy but I had no choice than to endure.
Adulthood is a stage we all need to be prepared for because no one will help you do that as everyone have their own problem to solve. One thing we all should know is that we need to cut our coat according to our size to avoid living a life of regret and stress, though it won't be easy but would be worth it with our actions to live a better life.
