Good day, beautiful and handsome people of the Hive blockchain! I'm delighted to be among this great community, #HiveGhana. Today, I'll be talking about gratitude.
It's unfortunate that most people only focus on the things that aren't working in their lives, blaming God or others for uncertainty, forgetting that they're far better off than many people on the streets, in hospitals, or in prison, who are praying and begging God for a second chance. Some are even in their graves, without the chance to live the life that we're living now.
I've learned to show gratitude to God and the people around me, both in happy and sad moments. Don't wait until you win the lottery before you'll show gratitude; don't wait until your prayers are answered. In fact, make your requests known to God with thanksgiving and gratitude, because gratitude makes way for more blessings.
What are three things I'm grateful for? Firstly, I'm grateful for provision. As a medical student who lost my dad in my 100 level, I know what it means to struggle. There were times I almost dropped out of school because things were so hard for us. Paying my fees was difficult, not to mention other allowances. But somehow, God provided, and now I'm in 400 level with my school fees paid. I don't lack foodstuffs, and God has been faithful. When I thought the death of my dad was the end of the road for me, God came through, and for that, I'm always grateful.
Secondly, I'm grateful for good health. It's a joy to wake up alive and healthy. My family, friends, everyone is well and healthy. Some people spend money on drugs daily; I know people who can't survive a day without their medication. Some are paying for oxygen, but here I am, breathing freely. You'd expect me not to show gratitude? Me, who can't even afford three square meals? How much can I pay for the air that I'm breathing? I'm super grateful.
Thirdly, I'm grateful for the gift of friends. I know I have friends who won't be happy seeing me cry. I have people who won't allow shame to befall me. So far, they're in the position to help, and they've always been there for me since I lost my dad. They've never allowed me to shed tears of shame or regret. They're always there to cheer me up in times of happiness or sadness.
In conclusion, please I urge us to make gratitude part of us. We all know the feeling that comes after going out of our way for someone, and later, our efforts weren't recognized. Let's learn to be thankful, especially for the little things. Next time, the person will be happy to do more. Someone opened the door for you to come in? Be appreciative. You have people working for you? Show them that you see them and appreciate them in any little way you can, and they'll be happy working for you. I promise you, things will just fall into place so easily.
If you've read through this point, I want you to know that I'm grateful. Thank you for stopping by my post! 🤗
