What’s that one job you as an individual think you’d never be able to get yourself to take up no matter the amount of money attached to it?
We all have different views about life, your preference should be different from mine because everyone has their taste in everything they do, now to the prompt of the week
One job that I can never do no matter the amount of salary put on it is hotel and bar attendant, people have different views about these people in my country, they always tag them as what they are not, and some people will classify them as a prostitute no matter how decent they are.
I had the opportunity to work as a hotel attendant after graduation but my family declined, they said it is better to remain unemployed than to work as a hotel attendant because I would be the one to be at the bar attending to people who are there for enjoyment.
People stigmatize them to be what they are not, I believe it is not every one of them that is dirty, some people can willingly give their body to any customer just for money but we still have some decent ones among them who are focused on achieving their goals but people won't understand them no matter how decent they are.
That one job is a no-go area for me, I had an encounter with a lady who quit the job after some weeks, I asked her what was the problem and she told me that the manager always selects the ladies there if he is passing the night in the hotel, he will always sleep with them in other to retain the jobs and if you decline his offer then be ready to leave the hotel.
This hotel pays their workers very well but the rate at which the lodgers sleep with the workers is so alarming after the manager threatens them of their jobs, so many people are desperate for this job because it is their only source of income and so many people depend on them.
Another reason why I detest this job is that no free moment, always at work except for the off day, they work morning till night and also work on Sundays, I can work all day of the week except Sunday, nothing can take away that day from me, I love to worship God and this day is separated to do so, worshipping in his vineyard is paramount to me.
I can never involve myself in any job that will take my self-respect away or will bring shame and reproach to me, Take time to rest and not instill fear in me, some customers can make you feel undermined that they will open their mouths and talk anyhow without considering how you will feel but you have to tell them sorry despite they are the one at fault, I have no patience for such drama, of you bring I will give you back in hundred folds and this is unhealthy in such organization.
I will never work in a hotel even if they agree to pay in millions, my mental health matters a lot, and having time for my family has been my prayer not to build a family without a solid foundation.
