Greetings!
Growing up was really full of fun as my parents, most especially my mum, showered and showed me maximum love. Being the only male and the last child among other 4 females gave me this kind of a special treatment as my mum would always get me the best toys, gifts and other things that are needed by me.
Aside from this, when it comes to my education, my parents would go to any length to make sure my education is well catered for. To be sincere with us, I really enjoyed my childhood days.
However, in as much as my parents showered me love as the only male and last child of the family. There's one thing that spoils the groove or the dog teeths back then. That thing is the house chores.
One thing my parents would not pamper me with back then is cooking, cleaning and doing the house chore.
Though, I was supposed to be enjoying and being pampered as the only male child of the family and be exempted from doing those things, but, my mum would be like, I want you to know how to do these things so that when you're on your own, it would not be difficult for you to do.
At the initial stage of this, I was very reluctant at doing it. In fact, there were times I would not do it and get punished for it. Then I thought I was being hated by my mum as she would not let me breathe when it comes to doing all these house chores.
One day she said, “Sam, I'm only doing this to assist you, I know you will thank me later.” But whenever she said this, I would soliloquied within myself saying, “what kind of help is that, it's pure hate.” But I still couldn't say she hated me just because of her care for me when it comes to other things.
However, as time went by, I discovered that all those things she was doing at that time was to help me as she had said. It's when I left home for university that I got to know that knowing all these things is of greater benefit than not knowing it. When I got to school, I found it easy to cook, clean and do other chores with ease. Also, after my school days, and before I got married, nothing was too difficult for me to do.
Although, since I've got married, I'm not really into it as of before, but anytime I wish to surprise my wife with a special delicacy, I enter the kitchen and spice up things for her and she's always loved it.
In conclusion, the tough time back then is a beautiful moment now. So, thanks to my parents, most especially my mum for helping my life even when I didn't want to yield to his instructions.
Thanks for reading.
