Greetings!
My life without my mum wouldn't have existed, not only because she brought me to the world, but because of her great impact in my life.
So, in response to the topic of the prompt. I would be writing a letter of appreciation to my dear mum, Late Mrs R.A Akintade for her immeasurable love and care towards me.
Dear mum, I know you are no more but your legacies live on in my heart. Thank you for all you did for me while alive.
Though, it's painful to me that you left us so soon. But the little you did for me has laid the groundwork for my growth in every area of my life, being it education, moral, religious, honesty, uprightness just to mention but a few.
Also, your sleepless night in prayers over me and my younger ones cannot be overlooked by me. You really backed us up with your prayers and sacrifices.
Furthermore, I could remember those days when you would be the last person to sleep in the house just because you wanted to see us sleep before you went to bed. Aside from this, I could remember how you used to be the first person to rise up in the morning to cook our food and prepare us for the day's work. All these I would never forget and take for granted in my life.
Hmmm, momma, thank you for always being there for when it mattered most. I wouldn't have completed my secondary school education without your sacrifices, but because you put everything on the line for me, I succeeded and even broke our family jinx of dropping out of the secondary school without completion. But with you and God by my side, I was able to do the impossible which was a great win for you and myself as well.
What of the words of encouragement and advice? Both are of greater use to me even after your death and I have always held on to it till now. Thank you for being my mother.
I would not also forget the other side of you which is discipline. Though, I mistook this aspect of you for wickedness, but later in life, I realized it's an act of love from you to me. This has really stood me out among my peers and contemporaries.
Dear mother, I would have loved this to be a letter of appreciation that would be delivered to you in response to the hiveghana weekly prompt. But that would not be possible.
So, instead of that, I'm using this to show my appreciation to you not as a letter but as a tribute to your good works that live on in my life and the lives of everyone you've in one way or the other crossed their path. Thanks for all you did. Rest in peace in the bosom of the lord till we meet to part no more.
Thanks for reading.
