Everyone of us believes in education and this belief has created a feeling for everyone as well, as far as education is concerned we cannot do without it, stay with me as I share my opinion.
Now education in the simplest way I can explain is a process of acquiring knowledge, everyone needs knowledge to live a successful life.
To my best knowledge and idea, we have a formal education and an informal education.
Formal education this is were schooling comes in, you know the is a difference between schooling and academic knowledge, formal education has to do with school
Informal education this form of education has to do with experiences, skills and interactions.
Therefore education on it's own is a full package it's just a matter of how you choose to be educated.
Should education systems fucus more on real world skills instead of theorical knowledge?
From my own point of view the society cannot properly function without these two things, white collar job still exist with people working in different positions, the problem is our state, this is the reason people go to school get a degree, travel out if they can to get a job.
Vocational skills are good but I think education give a more broad understanding on how to sail through.
I just want to set an example using my work place. I have been so busy since the beginning of this year because I just wanted to acquire a vocational skill, so they are people who are academically educated and some who are illiterates and we are all learning
the same skill at the same time, I just want to tell you that those academically educated are more smart and fast in learning infact the do not have the same level of cognitive reasoning so there is a better opportunity for the literate to be more successful in the business than the illiterate considering our current society
Therefore educational systems in our region should adapt to the western system where academic knowledge goes with a more practical teaching which would help the students solve real life problems.
Seriously I feel we are been cheated on,due to how incapable our so called schools are.
Nevertheless vocational training is the way forward to creating a good work force which is a benefit to the labor market, but before this make sure you have the basic educational knowledge because hey this era is not really favourable to the uneducated.
How about going to school and learning a skill at the same time, believe me your future is fully secured if you do this
