Cooking have always been my thing right from the start because I was brought up like that, most times you have to make your own meal or else hunger will wipe your head especially when you are back from school and as a foodie, If I want to eat, I always love to eat till I'm belleful maybe that is one of the reason why I don't really fancy eating out because eating to your satisfaction outside means you have to spend more money especially now that things are really costly and the quantity of food you will be getting is really small, so instead of spending that 4x money, I will rather visit the market and make a meal which will last me longer at home.
Most times when I came back from work, I'm always stressed and hungry, the thought of what to cook always fill my mind and it will be a bad idea thinking of cooking something that will really take time and I'm not a fan of snacks and taking noodles is always my last option so most times if I have foodstuff, my go to meal is yam and egg because it is easy to prepare and really fast and less stressful, I would have pick rice and fish sauce as my go to meal but the look of things now especially when price of most stuff have skyrocketed, you will need tons of cash to make your normal meal especially if you have to stock it up with fish or meat and that won't make it a low budget meal. So making yam and egg sauce, all I just need is yam (which is about 1.5hbd), pepper and 2 egg is around 0.8hbd, all other ingredient like salt, maggi and oil are always available at home.
I just need to peel 4-5 slice of yam then put it on fire with small salt added to it, then on the other side, I will blend the pepper, break the egg in a bowl. There are lot of ways to prepare fried egg, I think 3 ways but the one I always prefer is to make pepper sauce first and I do like it peppery so more Scotch bonnet, then whey it is almost done, I will pour the mixed raw egg inside it and start mixing it together till it is done. Most times making this meal wont take up to 20minutes if you are making use of 2 face burner and 25mins for just one and the total cost isn't up to 3hbd which is still fair and you see this meal right there is one meal that will give you that belleful satisfaction.
