Dans ce post, j’aimerais vous parler du concept de mon projet de jeu vidéo : le Projet Manipulation ! Quelles sont mes idées et mes avancées sur ce jeu !
Le Projet Manipulation ( qui est bien évidemment un nom de code ) est un jeu de type Action-FPS ( avec possiblement un monde semi-ouvert ou totalement ouvert ) qui se déroule dans les années 90, dans la ville de Détroit où la KrasnyBear, une mafia russe installé en Amérique du Nord règne sur la ville, imposent à la population des lois inspiré du communisme.
Dans cette ville qu’on peut qualifier de “ Détroit Communiste “, seuls les membres et amis de la Krasny ont une vie de rêve. Ce sont les 1% de la ville. Les 99% eux sont oppressés, pauvres, affamés, maltraités, dans une vie horrible. Ils sont appelés le “ Peuple Bas “. Et ceux qui mènent le combat et la résistance contre les lois communistes sont appelés les “ Indésirables “.
La mafia est en collaboration avec une organisation scientifique soviétique, composée d’anciens scientifiques du KGB. Lorsqu’un Indésirable est capturé, il devient un cobaye humain pour cette organisation et sujet aux expériences les plus horribles.
Le personnage qu’on incarne est The Fixer, aussi connu sous le nom de Patient 1211. On se réveille dans une salle d’un complexe de cette organisation et on commence à tuer un gardien, récupérer son arme… et le jeu commence.
Dans le jeu, on avance, on tue des hordes de mafieux russes et des boss, dans un gameplay inspiré de Far Cry et de DOOM 2016/Ethernal. Mais notre cher Fixer va aussi sombrer ; il va devenir fou, va avoir des hallucinations des personnes qu’il a tué, bref, des éléments scénaristiques de folie très inspirés de Hotline Miami.
Voilà l’idée première que j’ai imaginée pour le scénario du jeu. C’est flou, un peu cliché et quelques éléments incohérents mais ce n’est qu’un début, y’a beaucoup de travail à faire, mais j’ai au moins une base !
Comme dit plus haut, le jeu se veut être un Action-FPS inspiré de DOOM et Far Cry, avec une ambiance proche de Hotline Miami, dans un monde inspiré d’Half-Life, Boneworks et ( un peu ) Cyberpunk 2077. Il y aurait des armes comme le Beretta 92, le Model 1887, la M16 et d’autres armes du genre.
J’ai envie de faire le jeu sur Unreal Engine 4, et ceci pour une raison très bizarre : Unity supportant le C# est connu pour être plus simple qu'Unreal Engine. Et pourtant, j’ai l’impression que c’est l’effet inverse sur moi : je galère plus sur Unity que Unreal Engine. Pour preuve, j’ai jamais réussi à faire un simple script de mouvement sur Unity pendant ma game jam. C’est même un Designer qui l’a fait assez facilement, j’avoue que j’avais honte à ce moment là ( mais ça, j’en parlerais dans un possible post où je vous raconterais ma toute première game jam ). Sur Unreal ? Ça m’a pris 1 minute. Une simple minute à faire quelque chose d’aussi simple que le mouvement. Voilà, dès que j’ai vu ça, j’ai vite compris que j’allais privilégier Unreal Engine 4 à Unity pour le jeu.
Voilà où en est le projet, ce n'est qu'un début !
L’idéal, c’est que le jeu soit multilingue. Les premières versions serait en Français et en Anglais, et plus le jeu a du succès, plus je ferais en sorte de proposer des traductions dans d’autres langues ( allemand, espagnol, russe, japonais, chinois, polonais, coréen et le tout de manière progressive… ). Mais bon, pour le moment, juste français et anglais.
Voilà, je pense que c’était tout ce que j’avais à dire pour le premier post sur le Projet Manipulation ! Si vous êtes designer ou artiste 3D, j’aurais bien besoin d’aide pour le jeu !
De mon côté, je vais continuer à programmer le jeu pendant mon temps libre, et je ferai un prochain post pour vous donner toutes les avancées du projet !

In this post, I would like to tell you about the concept of my video game project: the Manipulation Project! What are my ideas and my progress on this game!
The Manipulation Project ( which is obviously a code name ) is an Action-FPS type game ( with possibly a semi-open or totally open world ) which takes place in the 90's, in the city of Detroit where the KrasnyBear, a Russian mafia installed in North America reigns over the city, imposing on the population laws inspired by communism.
In this city that can be described as "Communist Detroit", only the members and friends of the KrasnyBear have a dream life. They are the 1% of the city. The 99% are oppressed, poor, starving, mistreated, living a horrible life. They are called the "Low People". And those who lead the fight and resistance against the communist laws are called the "Undesirables".
The mafia is in collaboration with a Soviet scientific organization, composed of former KGB scientists. When an Undesirable is captured, he becomes a human guinea pig for this organization and is subject to the most horrible experiments.
The character we play is The Fixer, also known as Patient 1211. You wake up in a room of a complex of this organization and you start to kill a guard, get his weapon... and the game begins.
In the game, we advance, we kill hordes of Russian mobsters and bosses, in a gameplay inspired by Far Cry and DOOM 2016/Ethernal. But our dear Fixer is also going to go down; he's going to go crazy, he's going to have hallucinations of the people he's killed, in short, crazy scenaristic elements very inspired by Hotline Miami.
This is the first idea I had for the game's scenario. It's vague, a bit cliché and a few incoherent elements but it's only a beginning, there's a lot of work to do, but at least I have a base!

I want to make the game on Unreal Engine 4, and this for a very strange reason: Unity supporting C# is known to be easier than Unreal Engine. And yet, I have the impression that it's the opposite effect on me: I struggle more on Unity than Unreal Engine. As a proof, I never managed to make a simple motion script on Unity during my game jam. It's even a Designer who did it quite easily, I admit I was ashamed at the time (but I'll talk about that in a future post where I'll tell you about my very first game jam). On Unreal ? It took me one minute. Just one minute to do something as simple as movement. As soon as I saw this, I knew I was going to use Unreal Engine 4 instead of Unity for the game.
Here's the actual project, just the beginning !
The ideal is that the game is multilingual. The first versions will be in French and English, and the more successful the game is, the more I'll make sure to offer translations in other languages (German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Polish, Korean and so on...). But for the moment, just French and English.
That's it, I think that was all I had to say for the first post about the Manipulation Project! If you're a designer or 3D artist, I would need some help with the game!
As for me, I'll keep programming the game in my spare time, and I'll make a next post to give you all the progress of the project!
