The sun was back out today. I decided to go down the hidden footpaths in my village. You would walk past them if you didn't know they were there.
In autumn, you get some interesting fungi here as the footpaths don't get much sun so the area is quite damp.
This time I did see some blackberries that are ready to pick. You can tell we've had a good summer as they are out a few weeks early.
I saw a couple of butterflies as well, a speckled wood and a gatekeeper.
We had a bit of rain during the night so the spider's webs looked good with little rain droplets on them.
When I got to a different footpath it was quite overgrown so I got a face full of spider's webs. I could tell these footpaths weren't used very often.
Around my village, I have seen the odd broken eggshell on the ground. Sometimes when the chick has hatched the parents remove the shell from the nest to keep it clean, or perhaps a predator has had it.
At the very end of my walk, I stopped at the gate to take in the view across the fields.
