Most African communities are situated at the outskirts of big cities, putting them at a disadvantage. Today, I would like to share a famous example with my readers. I once visited this Ghanaian community of Akyem Ntrubo in the Volta region of Ghana. The community is surrounded by so many concerns that I won't be able to address them all. The little issues I spotted need a significant amount of attention to help improve the lives of the people who live there a lot better. The educational systems fall well short of expectations. There is a widespread absence of basic infrastructure. It is shocking to learn that some of these towns continue to hold school beneath trees, as well as an inability to have access to reading resources, along with other things.
The transport systems are inadequate, which often isolates them from big cities. It is obviously sad for the residents in such locations. The education of children is constantly compromised. Farmers struggle to convey their products to bigger marketplaces situated outside of cities, therefore sales in villages earn them relatively less. In most instances, people rely on the food they generate since travelling to the city is difficult for them. Urban inhabitants sometimes exploit rural dwellers for cheap labor and unequal recompense for services that would command a high wage in the city.
Another issue concerning Akyem Ntrubo is a lack of energy. It may surprise you to learn that some African communities lack access to power. I never saw a television or technological devices like those prevalent in cities throughout my whole time in this area. Since my phone's battery died, I've been entirely cut off from my loved ones. In today's society, the lack of power clearly translates into extreme poverty.
Ultimately, the government does not prioritize them. The urban regions are often highlighted since they are home to the bulk of voters. African authorities must consider giving attention to individuals who live in locations such as these in Ghana. I hope and pray that, with time, things will change for the better in locations like Akyem Ntrubo and others.
