Hello Hive family!
As part of our preparation for an upcoming sculpture class, we were asked to sketch a few studies of the human torso to better understand form, structure, and proportion. Here's one of my recent ballpoint pen sketches done during class hours — observing light, volume, and the way muscles wrap around the body.
This exercise has helped sharpen my eyes and hands before diving into 3D work. Sketching the torso forces you to see beyond lines — into weight, rhythm, and anatomy. Looking forward to translating this onto clay soon!
Grateful for the process and growth 🙏🏾
