Hello Hive family,
I recently decided to try something new — watercolor painting. This is my first attempt, and honestly, I didn’t expect how expressive and fluid this medium would feel.
The portrait I painted is not just about capturing a face, but about exploring light, shadow, and emotion through vibrant strokes. There were challenges — blending, layering, and getting used to how water controls the pigment — but that unpredictability made it more exciting.
I worked from light to dark, letting the colors guide the process instead of forcing too much control. What I love most about this piece is how alive it feels — from the gentle tones on the face to the richer, bolder background. It was a dance between accident and intention.
Swipe through the progress, and feel free to share feedback or tips if you're familiar with watercolor — I’m open to learning more.
Thanks for viewing!
