Hello everyone!
I’m sharing with you all the first look at a new piece I have just just started. I call it “Radiant Hope” and though only the eyes are completed so far, they already carry the soul of the work.
The drawing is of a Corgi, one of the most expressive and charming dog breeds out there. Tha pose and gaze reminded me of quiet strength, like a little creature staring into the distance, not with fear, but with trust. That was the spark for the title, “Radiant Hope.”
I began the drawing with a light graphite sketch to block in the head shape and ear placement and doubled checked if the proportions were correct. I then lightly shaded the background to bring out the form.
I now proceeded to the beautiful eyes, starting with soft graphite to map out the iris and outline. I gradually deepened the tones with, paying special attention to the reflections and pupils because this is where the emotion lives. A touch of highlight here and the eyes were alive.
Even though it’s just the beginning, I wanted to share this early look with you and invite you to follow me in this journey.
Thank you for stopping by. I love you all! ❤️
